How do you get all these birds so tame ?..Normaly you only have 1 bird to bond with or else they bond together and gets wild..but all yours are very tame ?
Love these birds, but I myself could never have one. That high pitched chirp wold make me crazy in about 1 day. I really don't know how people can stand it. On the other hand, something like a cocktiel or a parakeet doesn't bother me at all. I think it's the high pitch... They are cute as heck though.
@kokanut1 At age 11 I loved my cockatiel. Just keep their nails trimmed because they can hurt your finger since they are kind of heavy birds compared to parakeets. Their wings also need to be trimmed because they can fly into the walls and you don't want your niece climbing on top of furniture trying to retrieve the bird if it flies up on top of the curtain rod. Try to get a trained one if possible that knows the "step up" command. Cockatiels can be great pets with the right care :)
be careful when sleeping with little birds.my dad fell asleep with his lovebird and actually crushed him to death by accident because i think he rolled over it while sleeping. :(
snuggle buggle! AHHAHA THAT WAS PRICELESS! plus, hes soooo adorable!i just wanna squeeezeee him! well not literally cause he could die but like u no XDDD so cuteee
Usually when I'm in my room, one of my younger siblings bring in my bird and lets him off on my chest. He immediately goes to my neck area and sits there and won't move. ^_^; when he's like that, I usually pull up my blanket so he can snuggle up to it. XD
i love your birds...they are so cute. I used to have a few pairs of lovebirds but i had to give them away cuz i tended to be alergic. .. they remind me of the ones i had.
what do you recoment is the best type of bird for a 12 year old girl? mt neice wants a bird but im not sure which would be best for her, what do you think?
I don't know your niece. 12 year-olds can be the most mature, devoted, over the top animal lovers who do even better taking care of their pets than most adults, or they can be untactful, irresponsible, and once the newness goes away, so does their enthusiasm for their new pet. I know, I teach that age. So I can not recommend a species because little 12 year-olds (5th-6th graders) are a different species within themselves.
@Djinnlover im 12 but ur niece could lose her enthusiasm if shes not a big animal love i went crazy for my birds and i still and i lov them a lot i am going to be a vet when im older and um 12 year old are in 7th-8th grade lol XD
haha so cute i would be so embarrased anywayss adorable bird though. that is so cute and im trying to get one so i will be sure to show this video! thanks~!
I have a domesticated cockatiel he doesn't know how to bite but he is very loving. Also he does that to me to what ur bird does to that guy the vet says its is beleived to go below the mouth because the exhaled air is very warm and birds like humid temperatures
Too cute. XD I love how he puffs himself out, and his cheeks look so squeezeable. Although, I don't think you should really do what I'm thinking of. ^^;
I could write a book on this topic since we have both, but let me put it this way concerning tame lovebirds verses tame cockatiels: owning a cockatiel is closer to like owning a dog, and owning a lovebird is closer like having a child.
They were born two nestlings here, I realized today. I don´t know if they will survive in this cold. Do you put some heating for nestlings that are born during the cold station?
Well, if they are in the nestbox with the Mom, they will probably be fine. Do you keep your home relatively comfortable for you? If so, then I am sure it will be fine.
Yes, relatively comfortable. Usually the temperature here in the winter is about 32-35 fahreinheit degrees. The hen keep going out the box about 30 seconds to 1 minute, to cut peaces of brunch which I put over the cage, to carry them to the nest. In this period, the nestlings get alone in the cold. Thge hen do that a lot of times.
