I got my 3Gs wet and everything works just fine on it except the dock, I have another dock and everything to swap it out. I hope this works for me. I miss using my jailbroken iPhone.

omg!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have no idea what i just did but i opened my phone and i didnt want to take it apart like u did so i just put my adapter in there and my phone started to charge i was sooo happy so i put it back together and not only did my phone charge but it fixed my home button too so im just sooo happy thanks!!! :D

I'm having this problem but my speaker and microphone are still working (I assume they use the same deck/dock/port/however you name that bottom part of the phone). Do I have another problem? or will this fix it? I'll replace the part anyway, just to be sure, and I'll post the results, but I'd like to have some piece of advice :) Regards!

i'd turn the fone off first otherwise you'll fry the proximity antenna and you'll have no earpiece sound.

Hi, I tried to replace my dock, and I believe I did so correctly, but my computer can't recognize it. Then I tried to put the old one back in the phone, but it also doesn't work. The old was was slightly chipped before I replaced it, but it still worked. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks!

When I install the speaker piece it's extremely difficult to keep the two tabs on the left side above the tabs on the shell. On the actual speaker there are two tabs (a lower and upper tab ). How do you keep them both above the case tabs. Or do the both need to go above?

Actually I don't know if it's the dock or the battery here's what happened my battery was running low so I connected the charger but the charger short circuited so I thought I'll buy another one I called one last person then iPhone turn itself off with red battery and lightening the pc didn't recognize by the time I had new charger the iPhone is completely shut down nothing on the screen and won't turn on whatever I do even hold home button and sleep button 10sec. Any help pls ?

hi, I need advice for a 3GS 4.1, full signal and career but no network. (WiFi works fine, though!) ALL of the software tests done. I dialed 3001#12345# to test networkstrength and got "unknown error".

I read : "Then use a finger to connect the two metal bands on the lower left corner, over the black plastic strip. That will short-circuit the magical gap and bring the phone's signal down quite significantly."

?? No further instructions. Where ? What do you think? Any way out, or big repair ?

I noticed the replacement charging assemblies don't have the adhesive bumper below the #4 connector.  Do you just have to tape it down or pull off the old one and tape it over?

@simdlee I have the same problem too after replacing the lower dock assembly. I get no EDGE service at all, and 3G service jumps to "No Service" or 1 to 2 bars at home and at work when before I use to get full bars. I did the network reset and that didn't do anything. I also sometimes get an "o" where the 3G and E goes next the bars??? I'm wondering if the dock assembly was bad... Thinking about doing a restore next I just hate having to put everything back again.

Use the right size screwdriver, don't force them or strip them. Try a screw driver with a slightly larger bit which gives you more leverage and power over the screw with each turn.
