  • How did you key the sand without the skin keying, they're a really similar tone?

  • track and matte on the first like 2 seconds are a bit off, but other than that minor mistake, great job. :)

  • Hi Al, did you keyed out the shadows too? did you use mocha to track the extension or just the tracking with AE? Thanks

  • @krakadyll yep, keyed it in AE and got the shadows in there too. No need for mocha with a shot like this as it's just a 2d track so you can do it all in AE or any other compositing software

  • @al28283 Thanks Brotha!!! Keep it up...

  • Are the mountains CG???

  • so talented

  • So wait....How did you do this? I'm kind of new at the program but VERY interested. If it wasn't rotoscoping, how? You keyed out the sand and ocean?

  • If I understand it right, the sand was color corrected to look like snow. Otherwise he could have just shot this on a green screen.

  • not quite, the sand is a solid colour so it acts as kinda a greenscreen and is wasy to key out

  • Ah I see. That works pretty well then even if the key isn't completely perfect.

  • @al28283 Do you use adobe after affects?

  • Iv seen this done before with cats, double sided sticky tape and BigRed chewing gum, didnt look quite the same. And if you don't like BigRed FUCK YOU

  • double sided sticky tape is for noobs!

  • Wow! How did you do that with no greenscreen? Was it all by rotoscoping? If so it'd take ages?

  • lol, no. Rotoing is borrrrrring. I keyed it using a few different values to get a decent matte. Around his legs looks horrible up close but it works well enough
