I just realised that when David is about to propose and Mike walks in, the same thing happened when Chandler tried to propose the first time and Richard walked into the restaurant... Mind = blown.

@brookallan Yep! He does the voice of Frink, which was inspired by Jerry Lewis. Maybe the writers couldn't think of any further adventures for David, which is why he didn't get his own series. I thought it would be cool if there was a movie much like "Being John Malkovich", only when you go through the little door, you wind up in Hank's head, surrounded by the 30 or 40 voices he does. Now that would be a good show! Food for thought.
Interestingly, Chandler and David are also each missing a toe.
