  • Senatus populsque romanus.

  • Can anyone please tell me what the song starting from 5:34 is?

  • Senatus polpulsque romanus friends

  • His voice makes me sleepy.

  • I praise the drama in this video. Much, much of America is consciously modeled on Rome. Given that upwards of 50% of American education during that time was focused on learning Latin and Greek (and to a lesser extent Hebrew), it's not surprising. What about the very idea of a republic? That is Roman, along with all its rhetoric of eternal vigilance.

  • what do you think WHERE IS ROME?? in portugal? in spain??? in france? are you aware of the absurdity of your video yes? do you remember Rome is in Italy???? it's the capital of Italy?? ok so how you can write a lie as what you just put up on the video? the italian language is the ONLYONE language wich derives COMPLETLY and DIRECTLY by the latin! the onlyone! it's not the main romance language but the onlyone which derives COMPLETLY by the latin! our pronounce is the same of latin! study more.

  • excuse me but where you've taken the percent of latin deriving on the video???? you don't know that italian language derives DIRECTLY from the latin wihtout any other foreigner influence???? how you can think that we have only 9% of latin deriving in italian? absurd I am really speechless! study our history better! italy is the heart of Roman Empire and only italy you know?

  • ROME >>> everything else.

  • Magnificum, sed cantum non ex tempori romae est. MCMXXXVII ab christum natum in germania factus erat. Coenobitae etiam non latine loquebantur. Vulga lingua ipsae fuit.

  • Very interesting video, obviously spent some time working on it - thanks, this is very interesting and informative. I especially liked the months, I had NO IDEA :)

  • true to kaisar!

  • To add to your connection between Mussolini and Ancient Rome, Mussolini's Dictatorship also produced an interesting propaganda film called Scipio Africanus and the Defeat of Hannibal, which used the idea of the Roman defeater of Carthage invading Africa to show Mussolini's own ambition to invade North Africa.

  • AWESOME,EDUCATIONAL,INFORMATIVE VIDEO!!!

    THX FOR PUTTING THIS UP......

  • Ave ROMA immortalis! Salute ex Moesia Inferiof!

  • wat is the song at the beginning of this video

  • @MrShortfry13 The title of the song is Carmina Burana

  • ROMA CAPUT MUNDI

  • @Efilzeo sine corpore mundum

  • @Timeofflux

that's 'you're' you filthy Marxist Islamophile.

  • @Timeofflux

    Well, you're a moron.

  • @Timeofflux

so how well has democracy kept Islam from destroying Western culture? Democracy worked once, like in ancient Greece, when only learned male citizens could vote, and there was no mass media manufacturing consent. Even so, now they ignore democracy when it suits them, like when they held referendums throughout Europe in which most of the people wanted immigration to stop, did it? No.

  • @Timeofflux

Most of those are pointless, particularly ethics, philosophy and democracy. Rome= Destroyers of the filthy boy loving Greeks.

Greeks = Pointless shit like the Antikythera mechanism

We all know that Rome was the real western beginning, Greece was just the inferior prelude. If it wasn't, Rome couldn't have pwned them, could they?

  • @Timeofflux

LOL You Greeks were carved up. Although Greeks were the kings of pointless technical contraptions.

  • The most influential empire man ever knew.

  • Thank you for helping me with my culturehistory test by uploading these videos :) Learnt alot.

  • cunt licking cock suckers

  • t's all Western civilization, going back to even Alexander the Great. Really cool 2c this vid. Always fun watching how one Western civilization is connected with another. It is that progress passed from one great Western empire to another that has improved the quality of life over several millennia. Otherwise, present American life would be very much like life under Alexander... without youTube! *** gasp ***

  • the eagle is just an ancient symbol of power used long before the romans. the american eagle has no direct link with an roman period eagle.

  • The Romans were badass!

  • why oh why do people insist on being rude in places like this? You either agree or disagree, state your case and be gone, or shut up. Time we grew up.

So many people get so aggressive and full of rage and should be seeing a therapist not commenting in here.

  • @FunNotNuts Sorry man, i don't like to be rude i just got carried away.

  • I think the author of this Video has forgotten to take into account Rome's control greater Germany.

  • It wasn't founded on bloodshed and lust. Honor and glory were the foundations of Roma. And nothing but superficial similarities exist between ancient Rome and anything today.

The eagle on our dollar comes directly from ancient Egypt, with the difference being it was a falcon of Horus. They combined the Egyptian with the Roman in this case.

And the Julian calendar came from Egypt as well, after his expedition to Egypt.

  • thanks xxx

  • for all you smart asses italian in the main romance language.....if you didn't notice the city of rome is in italy and romania was named after rome,( the pie chart is just listing the most spoken romance languages but italian is the real one is just not the most spoken.)

  • @munich84ss Sardinian is an italian dialect, you should know that.

  • @therox68 ahahahah can you explain how is it possible that sardinian is an italian dialect if it was born centuries ago that the italian???

  • Born in July of 356 BC in Pella, Macedon, Alexander The Great was one of the most successful military commanders in all of history. His father was King Philip II of Macedon and his mother was Olympias, daughter of King Neoptolemus I of the ancient kingdom of Epirus.

  • proud of being Italian. Greeks are our brothers, fellow. You know, the soul is stronger than the blood. Italy and Greece are the source of western civility and we have always respected each others.

  • Macedonia will never be Greek ! The world knows that. Only the Greeks think they have everything, like Macedonia and Alexander the Great. :)

"The Macedonian lions never die, they only sleep..."

  • Manchevo the world knows that?? Take a look in the American, German, French or any other history books and see what they say about Alexander and the ancient Macedonians being Greek. Only FYROM says that they weren't

  • Rome lasted 1000 years. Today's historians pick and choose certain facts that establish their particular bias.

Rome's beginning was a foundation built on virtue, a fact often overlooked by liberal sensationalists.

  • Senatus Populusque Romanus.

    -SPQR.

  • Amazing, I knew rome influenced much of todays society, but never this much

  • "False words are not only evil in themselves, but they infect the soul with evil."

    -Plato, Phædo 91.

  • Rome= multicultural nightmare filth !

  • Go to hell, you stinking cunt.

  • Romulus was lactose intolerant.

  • --And so has her predecessors as well as her succeeding powers. "Degradation" and "filth" are perpetual hallmarks of the human disposition. History and present circumstances already confirm this.

What the Romans also did--and extremely well for that matter--is turn a small agricultural community into a premiere empire of the ancient world, which presents a lot of fascinating subjects for historians to observe.

  • Equate Rome to the Sassanids, to the Parthians, the Plantegenets, all of them worthy of burlesque scorn and disapprobation. All that the Romans contributed to antiquity was purloined from the Etruscans or the Greeks. The Romans do not deserve the sovereign right to lick the sweat off the balls of a Greek footsoldier.

  • Greeks are just jelous of the only Empire worth talking about Today which was ROME>

  • Rome was militarily superior but Greece was intelletually superior, and appreciated its culture with closer contact with Greece and the Etruscans. As Greece became Byzantium, its level of culture sank into an abyss.

  • So Rome is the only Empire talking about??? Although i love the Roman Empire do you know that the Greeks under the command of Alexander the Great were able to accomplish in 13 years what the Romans did in 200??

  • alexander the great was macedonian illyrian..Greek who are you..Are you..pelasgians,illyrians macedonians, thrace, Italians...use belive use are all of them...give it a rest your history is lies

  • Please learn how to speak English and then try again becuz honestly i didn't understand anything. Alexander the Great was Greek, not Illyrian, not American nor Chinese but GREEK!

  • @Barbarian337 yes but without the greeks there would be no rome you moron

  • @Barbarian337 most of rome culture was of greece - i prefere the greeks for one reason - they we not as sadistic as the romans

  • @Barbarian337 lol common why should we be?

  • @Barbarian337 lol...

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson Why always greeks want to say that they were better than Romans?? Greeks were Greeks, Romans were Romans. Thats it.

  • @AnonymousWhitePerson Or the Greeks?? right partly, but more from Etruscans and of course themselves.

  • Mandate of Heaven!

  • -SPQR

  • gay cliche music

  • senatus populusque romanus

    ave cesare, romani te salutant

  • The bible was goven to all invaded countries, new slaves.

If they were good and served their "master" well, they could some day serve the lord in heaven (rome).

If they were bad, they would end up in hell (with the gladiators).

  • this is fantastic!

and whats the song at 0:53 ?

  • great vid man

  • Bravo, well done !

  • Rome it's Rome

  • very informative, cheers mate

  • Thanks for posting. This video clip is very great. :-)

  • dude this is fucking amazing! you deserve like a golden star or something. this is really good dude and i got a lot of useful info that i needed for my history class. you are a beautiful man!

  • Very few cultures still use the Julian calendar. In the US, for example, we use the Gregorian calendar.

  • Five Stars

The Marxism of Political Correctness taught in the Universities, the Media's conditioning of political correctness, and the push for broad unfettered multiculturalism has served to starve our sense of national identity and to fear speaking the truth lest we offend or evoke conflict. It's time to stand tall, strong, and reject the policies and politics of liberalism and defend our democracy.

  • Well said, Octavius31. Multiculturalism is largely responsible for the fall of Rome. Europe and North America seem not to have learned from this experience. The blame can be laid at the feet of modern University curricula. PC will be the end of us.

  • Not multiculturalism, but Christianity.

  • Yes, CopperForunato. We shall take no prisoners. Annihilation is promised to all who threaten Western Civilisation. We shall SMASH them without remorse, but with unstoppable resolve.

  • Great! Best video so far! Could you do something on emperor Konstantinus? (he proclaimed Christianity a State religion in ancient Rome around 300 something.) (I'm a music historian. Who knows Latin!)

  • Just like the Roman Empire imposed a Pax Romana on the world, JFK warned about those with notions of an empire imposing a Pax Americana.

  • Great video =)

  • Nice video. Also, I don't think he was saying that Americans are the direct inheritors of Roman culture, simply that they adopted things such as the eagle to associate themselves with the strength and honor (in reality, not too much of this) of the Romans.

  • apparently the eagle also represents facism i aint saying its true but i have heard it

  • Great video!, the only problem is the nation of comparation JAJA(U.S.A)PLEASE!!! they descendents from barbarians most directly, i can't belive it, you want to emulate te roman culture, because you don't have culture, leave the latin culture in peace, the only sons of the Roman culture are the latin europeans. i know!, the roman culture is great! and all the nations of the world want a pice from them, but you need acept the reality, it's ridiculous to think that you the north americans r romans.

  • And you, as a MEXICAN, are you a Latin European? I don't think so. Besides, these "sons of barbarians" have done far more to preserve and apply ancient Roman culture than, for example, modern day Italians.

  • Aemilia has a point, but Aemelia what happened to all the Spaniards in Mexico after they conquered Mexico?

  • @AemiliaPaulla Really? is that why Germans let Arabs Invade Italy ??? in fact those barbarians destroyed whatever left from Rome and left Italy into a chaos. Go read history of the Holy Roman Empire !!

  • Thank you, rocktupac, it's really interesting
