The liberal attacks on GWB for mass deficit spending are funny. Personally, I think Bush's spending was abhorrent, and Obama's is worse, but consider the other perspective.

If you think that Obama's stimulus spending is the right route, then Bush's should have also been a great economic stimulus. If Bush's spending was irresponsible, than Obama's is three to four times more irresponsible. Either way, you cannot consistently praise one and attack the other on this issue.

Reagan is actaully considered one of the greatest presidents ever and got us out of a bad economy because of what Carter did, got nothing there....And what Obama isdoing is horrible for us, even wall street, stock experts believe that this is crushing. John McCain could have been such a great leader. His concession speech was one of the great political speeches of the last decade. However, as this latest trip down warpath shows us, he is all too willing to be a lobbyist puppet.

Also, by no means do I completely agree with the stimulus plan as proposed, but if McCain were truly concerned he would put his anti-stimulus campaign "on hold" and step up as a leader for bipartisan consensus instead of just trying to get his face on TV.

Why put his campaign on hold if he does not agree with the plan? There is economic evidence that the stimulus could actually lower GDP in the long run. Nobel Prize winning economists disagree on the likely effects.

If he thinks it is a bad idea, he ought to oppose it. There is nothing inherently good about cooperation and consensus. They are instrumental goods if they lead to a good end. The framers designed our system to make law making slow and prudent and give the minority voice.

In the stimulus theres $198 million to compensate Filipino World War II veterans for their service. Most dont live in the United States. I'm sure that the few left will end up millionaires with that much money to split among them.

What about the vietnam veterans and other Us veterans? And, there is no money in the stimulus for the US Mexican border fence. Now, tell me who Obama is catering to? The answer, "Not the American people."
