@MegaDhproductions I used a Randal luge truck axle with maybe three or four truck bushings. Put a bushing or two onto one end of the axle with a nut and slide the wheels onto the axle. That's the down part in the vid. You can see the nut and red bushing at the bottom. At the top, slide on some more bushings and then press this into the drill press. The bushings at the top hit the chuck and press the wheels together. Maybe add a little washer over the top bushings if needed.
@AskMitchJackson I knew some people in the late 70's that got it from lathing wheels. The drill press probably isnt as bad as a high speed lathe. I still wouldnt breathe that though.
if you are going to carve or cruz or what ever, the rain will not be your friend in longboarding. Apart from maybe bombing all the types of longboarding involve turning and you need grip to turn. you will slide soooo easely in the rain.
lol no no no you dont want to do that, i had one of the worst experiences with longboarding in very very thin water puddles for sliding, just the slightest amount of water that you get in gets into your bearings and rusts them out and makes your wheels not spin anymore.
i would want to skate when its raining even if it stopped water can still get on your trucks and bearing and deck and can ruin it unless your board has like some layer thats meant to take on some water
But they'll work somewhat like a car tire. The grooves will vaguely channel some of the water and allow the other areas to touch the surface more easliy. And the edges of each groove will act like sharp mini slalom wheel edges, gripping the ground. Who produced some moulded groove wheels a while back? I can't remember.
he's cutting treds in it like a car tire so the wheels dont just roll over the ground they sorta ride and blend in with it so you dotn slide everywhere
are they center set?
ohaithercat 2 months ago
a easyer way to do that is ride your board and hold like a mini saw blade onto the wheels itll make perfect grooves

how do bearings hold up when it been raining?
i just recently bought a g&s 44'' pintail and was wondering if its ok to ride in the rain.
LulJam 2 years ago
Don't DON'T ever ever ever ride you bearings after use in rain, always clean them first. Don't know how then just look some videos.
ToxicBarracuda 2 years ago
not necessarily. if you have the ceramic bearings you can ride through the rain all day
mxbbirch7 2 years ago 5
@mxbbirch7 only if the entire bearing is made of ceramics (not just the balls)...
for most bearings, only the balls are ceramic, not the rest. Everything else can still rust.
Stainless steel Ceramic bearings would rock this world!!!

you gotta spray w-d40 or oil in it right after use or they will lock up forever
bradroche1020 2 years ago
dont spray wd40 on bearings, they will ride well for a lil while but in the long run you will kill your bearings this way.

what exactly are you doing to the wheel? Trimming it makes it easier to ride in the rain??
AdamTesta 3 years ago
adding grooves to the wheels increases traction. it's like tread on a car tire.
