@Timmymets Thanks, I had already heard all their back catalogue and there is just one song I don't like (Satellite Skin) - Shame its one of their most recent recordings, but cant complain. I hadn't heard ugly cassanova though, but now I have the album on and am loving it, great story behind the band as well.
@Guercinator Actually, at first Tom plays keys while Jeremiah is on bass and Eric plays acoustic guitar. Then, Jeremiah goes back to the drums while Tom plays electric guitar and Eric plays bass.
The thing is with Modest Mouse, they are so different than any other band. Most bands sound good recorded after all the effects added and then sound (for lack of a better word) crappy, when playing live. Modest Mouse is great when recorded, but beautiful live. Honestly, you won't know what I mean until you go to a MM concert. It honestly is so beautiful, the last time i was at this concert in Spokane, WA and they closed with "The Good Times are Killing Me." I cried the whole way through.
This song probably has my favorite Brock vocal melody - it's just so full and fun, you've got to love it. And those really catchy riffs, plus the parts real heavy on the chords are so good. I love this song. The new disc is certainly not Modest Mouse at their best, but it is them at their most accessible, and Guilty Cocker Spaniels is one of the standout tracks.
This song is so amazing, you think its not going to be good and then it blasts you with amazingly epic notes. first time i heard it was live. i almost shit my pants
I honestly believe he was joking, but at around 2:30 they do a close up on him, and for a second he looks like Seth Green's identical twin, pretty interesting.
Eric Judy = best Indie bassist ever.

@iloveKianaDexter They started the show at summerfest with the song "dramamine". I then proceeded bowing down and I left because I was not worthy.

I love how out of place the guy from All Smiles (rhythm guitarist) looks.

What else would you expect from these guys? Great drumming, bass, and guitar. And it all fits together so well. It's beautiful.

That's Jeremiah Green, their drummer since 1993.
Hopefully you're kidding...

Playing this song live really does it justice. The studio version is a bit contained but live it has some room to breath.
