  • did he purposefully bag on new jersey?

  • He was probably trying to get a look under her robe.

  • @welitheskyonfire really???

  • Hi, i have a few questions about the "head clearance." I am about 6'2 and a half but have kinda bad posture and slump over. Will I still be able to ascend the stairs to the crown do you think? There are literally only a few crown tickets left and I want to go so badly.

On a side note, I am a little afraid of heights and out of shape but i think those parts can be overcome!

Also, In October will the crown part be closed PERMANENTLY?? (or will it reopen at some point?) Please let me know!!

  • I wish the spoke louder, the motor drowns out some of what he's saying.

  • made by ottomans !!! TURKİSH POWER FUCK EVERYTHİNG

  • fabulous to see the inside of the statue.. must be a hell of a walk up but what a view!

  • filmed on 9/11?

  • omg his last name is actually weiner lol

  • Isnt a HALO ?

  • Kind of makes you wonder if she's naked under that toga.

  • Not True about immigrants , the real story is it was a TRIBUTE TO BLACK SLAVES , The original study for the Statue of Liberty was based on a design, "Egypt Bringing Light to Asia" and had African features and showed the broken chains at her feet and in her left hand. The caption said that this was the way Bartholdi originally designed her, but he was persuaded by the U.S. to change her appearance.

  • ha ha Anthony Weiner

  • @K1ll3r927 People would laugh a lot more if they read this comment a year after you posted it... lol

  • its a man, a hermaphrodite, it has to do with the new age where the genders will become one, and thus humanity becomes god...and these gods will be able to create life alone and then here we go again,,,

  • i wonder if anyone has ever made an attempt to climb the sol i remember in the late 90's some guy got arresested for trying to climb the sears tower in chicago god only knows how he did that

  • Stay out of other peoples countries and stop stealing their oil and the statue can remain open. America you brought this problem on yourself.

  • Awesome video! I'd love to visit one of these days. It's too bad they didn't video the actual climbing of the stairs of Liberty. That woud've been interesting.

  • this guy is hot!

  • The most famous of the USA was set up France.

    VIVE LA FRANCE

  • Vive all of you cheese-eating arrogant surrender monkeys! yay! You've got to love when people view videos of the US and then leave hate comments. I'm going to be childish and leave hate comments on Eiffel Tower videos now.

  • its open again

  • I work at the statue as park guide, the crown will only be open to around 300-400 people per day. not everyone will be able to enter the it. And as from what i hear it will only be open for 2 years then will be closed again for restoration.

  • Thank you Rep. Weiner for posting this - I saw today that that your efforts to have the statue fully opened were successful!

  • I still dont get the reason why the statue itself is still to this day cut off. You can enter every part of that structure but the statue - it's insane.

  • Im planning to go to New York in January 2010. I would love to go to the top of the statue of liberty even though i've heard its a bit crap. It would still be a amazing expirience. I can't wait :D

  • don't get your hopes up, they don't let anyone inside the actual statue anymore. you can go about 15 feet below the actual thing, and you can look up and see the inside, but thats it

  • Just heard on Fox News (don't flame on me for that), the Interior Department is re-opening the crown on July 4th, 2009. No joke.

  • I have some questions:

What is the defination of freedom and liberty for American???

    What is the values behind???

Why is it important for the success of U.S.?

(I live in Hong Kong which is a very freedom region. However, I would hope to know what the American think about them)

Thanks for your idea in advance!!!

  • All of that stair climbing for that??? Thanks but NO thanks. I'd rather take an elevator to the Observation Deck of the Empire State Building.

  • Visiting NY in december, as an Englishman living in Canada she is what I want to see most. Thanks for this great movie and as the gentleman below stated, a few upskirts would be a bonus.

  • The crown is a sweat spot so what. It is worth sweating it out. I probably see some upskirts on my way up too.

  • I went up in the crown back in 1989. It was the worst experience of my life. The spiral stairs were too small and scary. I felt like I was gonna' fall off. And when you reached the crown, it was a cramped hot sweat box. I'm glad they shut it down.

  • well i would like to go up there...

  • i've been to new york only once. i would love to go again. i didn't get to do everything i wanted too. i'm only 16. i'm graduting in another year from senior high. i hope to go after i get out from school or when i'm an adult.

  • Yes you really should go back again. I hope to go back again myself. I visited for the first time in April 2008 and it was one of the best experiences of my life. All the best in your future endeavors.

  • anthony weiner lol

  • i had the same thought lol

  • for some reason i am scared to see it up close lol

i am english and live in england... ive never yet been to new york or seen the statue for real... but i hope that when i do i can get to the top....

dont let those bloody terrorists win.

  • HEy girl. I love the usa to, I'm Dutch. i love her (liberty) To, i never visit New york, but maby next year it is time 4 me to go there :p if you have the money Maby we can go together :P LOL :P

  • the last time I was up in the crown was my first time...summer of 1996. I was only 6 at the time and remember my aunt lifting me up to look out the window.

  • GREAT tape!

    Thanks for sharing!

  • Haha.... weiener....

  • the statue is so intresting, i keep having dreams that she'll fall off and land in the sea and sink but her lights will stay on, and there be loads of dead bodys in her and its so creepy, i mean whats she wearing? she would make a really good killer lol

  • my god i am so terrified of heights, I shouldn't even watch this. But I want to.. heh hehe ;)

  • Thanks for this video

  • I went to nyc in dec 2000, I went to the statue of liberty, and got to go into her crown. The crowd was (literally) pushing to get a view and you only get half a minute to look out the windows BUT.. it is a beautiful experience. I hope the statue stays closed to the general public. I dont want to lose lady liberty to a terrorist. Better to be safe than sorry. And yes there are terrorists living in the united states.

  • i visited america in 1996

and i miss this thing 2

    i rigrit it 2

  • I visited New York only once, back in 1984. I regret not taking the opportunity to visit the statue back then. I certainly hope that you can help to re-open this landmark. To use a six-year-old cliche; if we don't reopen the Statue of Liberty, the terrorists win.

  • RE OPEN IT JEEZ COME ON ITS SOOO BUTIFUL

  • In the 70's as a kid a had the wonderful opportunity to be inside looking out of the crown. I remember the ferry ride, the long wait and climbing all those steps in the narrow staircase - and it was worth it. I wholeheartedly agree with Rep. Weiner that it should be opened to the public once again. Get the necessary security measures in place, and to hell with the pussy terrorists.

  • Anthony, one more thing...I appreciate what you are trying to do. Its just not right to disrespect our Military. We are fighting our hearts out with this Iraq and War on Terror. Increase the means to protect and preserve liberty first. After that, you will have ample time to make a profit from the tax payers. So, don't think I don't support you. Because I do. I am a Republican.

  • Anthony, they revoked the public from going to that area for a reason. A good reason.WE Americans do not want it destroyed. We have terrorists living in the United States. If you don't believe me, Type the following into your YouTube search browser...How to Exterminate White People. All it takes is some fanatic and one of our national treasures is gone forever. If we did not downsize our military we would not have to worry. Think about it.

  • Thanks for posting this. I went to NYC my 10th grade year of High School for marching band. We got to see the Statue of Liberty but not up close. Thanks again!

  • Check out the Empire State building or top of the rock. No crowds, a heck of a lot safer - no fire emergency problems - cooler - and quicker. The pedestal is a great view and no one is telling you to get out of the way, they have been waiting for 4 hours!

    Third Dragoon

  • Thanks Rep Weiner. I hope you are successful in your campaign to get the crown open again. I think most Americans want to see access returned as well.

  • Hey, if you like climbing stairs, go to the empire state building! I took a Weiner to the crown once, and all I got was a lousy t-shirt.
