  • I had the same experience as you Edwin, I remember that apartment very well...I have my tapes too - what a great time in my life, I think the world of him, what a terrific teacher, friend, inspiration and above all else, one HELL of a player!

  • I took lessons for a year or so around 1980/81 at his 94th St apt. He's a great teacher with unbelievable patience and he may be the nicest guy I had ever met. I still work from those lessons and love to watch the videos of Woody playing. We had some great conversations about Davis and Jorma.

    Thanks for the great inspiration and lessons Woody.
