It is called fat chance bellydance.

Its all improv work. You learn the moves and the ques and one person dance lead and all the others follow. So depends on the que everyone else knows whats coming next

The style is called American Tribal Style (ATS), the troupe is called Fat Chance Belly Dance and the originator of both the style and troupe is Carolena Nericcio. There are other troupes that are also doing ATS now.

Perhaps my comment was not perfectly clear in meaning. The reference to Western, was a reference to the American media which gives the impression that you have to be blonde & skinny with fake body parts in order to be "sexy" in skimpy outfits. Sadly our culture is saturated with cookie cutter ideals of beauty, and rarely are real displays of confident female sexuality(like this video) given proper light and praise.

The singing sound is called " Zaghareet"...its a sound you make when you feel happy or delighted or just wehn youre having fun...

Also, zaghareeting is done to honor people. In the Middle East, often women gather at the gate of their home to honor the man coming as he comes home in the evening. Bellydancers do it to honor each other. This is why you often hear it when the dancers are doing something particularly amazing.
