hi countryga1946, this song is called turn, turn, turn, and its on her "those were the days" album. its a collection of dolly's own favourite songs. hope this helps you.
Dolly Parton is amazing I would compare her talents to any composer singer artist in modern times and as well 100's of years ago I have met her sister Stella and her mother they are real country folk and what a family so graceful and kind...Godbless all of them.
HOw wondeerful that Mr Seeger , and I hope I spelled that right, had the blessing to pen such a song, it certainly has made some nice miles, and the work Roger and the Byrds did to intially make sucha wonderful hit, (what was it, 57 takes?) has endeared this song for 4 decades. Just wonderful. ty Roger...
To MrBruceBarham. Several of the folk titans have made this song very well. My favorite is the original seekers (with Judith). Also Judy Collins / Pete Seeger, The Simon Sisters, The Byrds. All on YouTube.
yes i agree, once it is in the song , so to say, the song stands...my fav tho is the byrd recording....of course music fans such as you and I , we have times we prefer this arrangement or that, and we are diverse and ecletic, appreciating each jewel for its own
I agree. For me comparing the Byrds to the Seekers version is like comparing a 9.9999 to a 10 where a typical song is a 5. And I feel privelaged to see the Simon Sisters and Collins/Seeger versions, like being able to the birth of it and and the 25 year Folk Revival.
Hilarious,I personally prefer the sound of my kitty scrubbing his paws on my back and staring at me like "how the hell am I going to get that voice shut up"!!Thank God Roger McGuinn was throwing around ideas as well as brilliantly banjo & Guitar picking
Don`t get me wrong..I LOVE Dolly but I have heard this particular version of Turn,Turn,Turn and it seems she is simply just singing it to sing it. You don`t get the feeling she means a word of what she is saying. There`s no feeling to it at all
I found this clip while checking out related "Turn, Turn, Turn" clips. Wonderful! Dolly is truly a national treasure! I hope her talents and contributions can be gratefully acknowledged by the public at large while she is still active and with us.
I love You with all of my heart and soul Dolly,You are my favourite singer,I will always love you Dolly... Forever...My Heart will go on to You Dolly...X X X
Turn, turn, turn is the song. Dolly is such a sweet lady on camera. Dolly and McGuinn's voices actually fit very well, together.

Dolly's so pretty in pink. What a great person...so fun to watch and listen to. They don't make 'em like her anymore.

Dolly: "If you ever want me to sing in something of yours I'd be glad to do it. We got a nice sound."
