heyy, great video man.. i have a couple of ?s...1 to install a boost gauge do u drill a hole in the throttle body or use a T in the vacuum line? and 2 got the EGT do u drill a hole into the excoust pipe? thank u, i have a 90 toyota celica. plz help
For your vehicle, the boost gauge would be installed by using the included t-fitting to splice into your vacuum line. For the EGT gauge you can drill and tap your exhaust pipe or you can install it directly to your exhaust manifold. If you have any other vehicle specific questions, do not hesitate to call 1.888.GS.Gauge and speak to one of our Technical Specialists, they will be more than happy to answer all of your questions.
iam intrested in getting these gauges but kinda worryed how to put them in my 7.3 my dad put some other brand in his 6.0 some time ago now and he says its hard to do
The installation is not very difficult at all, if you have a good working knowledge of the vehicle it should take you about 2 to 2 1/2 hours. We also have technical support available to help you during the process, as well as this video. If you have any vehicle specific installation questions just give our technical support department a call. If you have anything else just ask!
Nice job but you shouldn't mount the fuel pressure sending unit right on the housing because the engine vibrations could damage it or give an inaccurate reading. Its better to use a hose and mount it over by the battery
That is a great point, and depending on the truck we do recommend mounting the sensor remotely and running a line to avoid vibration. Thanks for the comment!
@glowshiftgauges Thanks for the reply. Hey I've got a question, I just installed your 7 color fuel pressure gauge on my 6.0 powerstroke and the gauge gets very hot to the touch (the back part, not the screen). Is that normal?
I have not heard of this so I spoke to one of my technicians, and he would like to speak to you directly so he can troubleshoot this. Please call him @ 1.888.GS.Gauge ext 114. Remind him that you are from YouTube and he will certainly take care of you. He will be in tomorrow from 10am - 7pm EST. If you need anything else just ask! Have a great day!
@glowshiftgauges I figured it out. I had just the power wires hooked up to the gauge and was waiting to do the sending unit and for some reason that was making it heat up. Now I have everything all hooked up and it doesn't get hot anymore. Thanks for offering the help!
HEY I BOUGHT THE GLOWSHIFT AIR/FUEL GAUGE RATION FOR MY GRAND AM GT 3.4 AND IT'S NOT READING THE RATION RIGHT. IT GOES TO LEAN OR RICH ANS STAYS THERE. CAN YOU HELP
We would certainly be able to help you out with this, but I would need you to contact our technical support department so we can troubleshoot the gauge to determine what the exact issue is.
