No.. it follows some of the sam epatterns, but alot of it will seem fresh and new, so if you exclude the cheesy fights, the drama in the live-action is worth the watch :)

Someone asked earlier if the blue-haired girl was Chibiusa. No, that's Luna, believe it or not. In PGSM, Luna can take on the appearence of a young girl(and in that form, become Sailor Luna. Her physical fighting skills aren't so tough, but her magic is pretty helpful. Plus, she's very agile, lol) Chibiusa wouldn't be in this series because Chibiusa didn't arrive until Sailor Moon R, the second season/arc, while this show only covers the first season/arc, Sailor Moon Classic.

Its called PGSM or Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. It came out of Japan in 2003 I believe. 50ish episodes. But Im not sure on the exact number. Each episode is called an act. They started the show with act 1. They later came out with a special Act Zero. And they had a special movie where Usagi and Mamoru get married. I think that was act 50 or 51. Everyone go buy it on ebay right now! Thats where I got my copy!

After reading the manga, watching the animated series, and watching all the episodes of this... I don't know. I loved this show's storyline and twists, but if they had just kept the wigs on at all times and the corny and bad 3D transformations out of it, it would stand up proudly in my mind with the manga and animated series.
