Don't get met wrong, I enjoy all styles of music including what is considered grind/death/black/doom/thrash metal et al but if you want a no bullshit form of heavy music, TS in this era CANNOT be beaten. DRESS like women, TALK like men, and PLAY LIKE MUTHAFUCKAS.
Isnt the ORIGINAL version have like a chanting at the end, that they are saying, "follow me follow me follow me follow me, etc....or am I confusing this with another song???
@swine74 I had the original single and the version on Club Daze sounds the same to me. Are you sure it's different? I know that they altered the end of I'll Never Grow Up on Club Daze, they removed Dee's talking [hey, what are all these people doing in my room, etc.] but it's essentially the same version just a different mix.
@djanchovy the one on Club daze was from Ruff Cuts, I'm assuming they're different. It also didn't include What you don't know from Ruff Cuts (now on the dlx UTB) and the single version of Bad Boys.
Fantastic stuff indeed "Under the Blade" (1982) and "Stay Hungry" (1984) much better than "You Can´t Stop Rock n Roll" (1983), "Come Out and Play" (1985) ..."Love is for Suckers" (1987) well ... .-)
i'm a 40 year old dad and i still love twisted sister, great footage reminds of why i love metal so much! so much energy now that's how to play rock from the heart! thanks for posting.
before you call Dee Snider gay for wearing pink spandex, remember that he is the reason why the government isn't allowed to censor music lyrics. Stay awesome (and hungry), Dee
Dee was playing at the Gemini in Yorktown NY I was only 17 During his song, dee noticed some guy playing a pinball machine in the back of the bar, stopped the song, and told him off for spending money to see Twisted Sister and not paying attention It was classic and magic times I will never forget
I remember this tune, the vinyl was an import at a record store in Chicago. it was one of the first metal lps I ever bought. loved the older stuff more than the 'radio' hits.
Another bit of info on this clip; I knew the guy who recorded this off the air back in 1981. His master is missing the last 10 seconds of the song. I was surprised one day when I found a complete copy posted here[although the intro was missing]. The video quality was lousy but the audio was what I wanted so I rerecorded the audio portion of that other video and mixed it in at the end of mine with that still photo. Thank you whoever you are that posted that other version!
Yup. The second single had a picture sleeve also. Another tidbit of info, some copies of the second single were mispressed with double A-side labels. These apparently sat in Dee's parents basement for some years but were eventually put into circulation later by Dee's brother.
Twisted Sister redefined my youth. I and my now husband used to follow the band in the tri-state area starting in 1980. We are so grateful they made the big leagues. They felt like family to us that you're proud of. SMF friend for life
So GOOD to see this! I first saw Twisted in 1980 @ Rockaway in Staten Island. They blew me away like no bar band ever had. Those 2 TS Records 45's are magic! The tightest band ever, I knew they were headed for stardom. Good to see something w/ Fast Joey Brighton on drums! SMF forever!
Yeah, the first two singles are great especially Under The Blade. I remember seeing them for sale in Record World in Elmont, NY. Too bad some of the other tracks from that period like Rock and Roll Saviours were not released back then. Well, at least we have them on CD now.
@djanchovy -Yeah, were really wanting to get studio stuff back then. I still have the two singles. We used to see them at Hammerheads, Detriot, the Factory, etc..
I still crank some old tunes out on my V & Marshall when noone's home!
@djanchovy -First saw them at Adventureland! Yeah, were really wanting to get studio stuff back then. I still have the two singles. We used to see them at Hammerheads, Detriot, the Factory, etc..

Been many a band fight back in the band room between Dee and Tiny, bass player from Spartacus. I know I was there.. LOL Rock on...Who would have thought Twisted would have made is so big. They still rock today.
hmmm their signature colors are slightly different there... purple (instead of red), yellow, blue, pink and orange (instead of green... even though mark always had the animal print). killer footage!
When I first heard this song (82-83) I had no idea what ts looked like, There was alot of Black Metal coming around (venom, anvil, etc.) so I kinda lumped them in together. Till they got on MTV and they were obviously something else!? But the Bakersfield concert confirmed their MEDDLE. This song still Kicks ASS ! Thanks for posting a great performance.
