Great work!! I've been a drummer for 4yrs, have a Ludwig kit with Avedis and Z Custom Zildjian cymbals. Been wanting to learn how to play the Bodhran. How much do they run? Is there a certain brand that is better than the others? What are your suggestions?
@Drummer1060 I wasa ludwig drummer for years and got waltons Bodhra'n in galway for E50 and have just picked it up and been playing in a few sessions round here.Think of it as a floor tom on its side and it will hit you one day EASY.Do not give up.Good Luck.Contact me for any tips I can pass on.
hey......just want you to know I still use your videos as a tool to learn more about my bodhran....and with this video ..my arm and wrist always ache lol. Love all your new stuff......keep going.! Oh and THANKS -:)
very nice!!!! just bought a new bodhran was finding it very difficult if u you plz keep posting some tutorial videos it wud be great uve really been a great help thanks a mil!!!!!
That so reminds me of going to folks clubs when I was a kid with my mum. Listening to bands like Boys of The Loch and Battlefield Band. Brilliant. Thanks a lot for that.
hahaha! I'm laughing because you were such a joy to watch! :) I just bought myself a cheap bodhran recently, but I'm still shy with it. It was wonderful watching you be so uninhibited and comfortable with your instrument. I'll be working on that myself in the days (and weeks and months and years) to come! Thanks for the inspiration.
Well, I'll just say thanks, and PLEASE keep uploadiong regularly! I'd like to hear you play tin whistle, can you do that? LOVE the Tricolour too! Wouldn't it be good if we could get in a session together sometime? My pal goes over to Kinvarra a lot, and says the craic there is the best he's ever witnessed.
wow, thanks for the comment! That would be awesome if we ever got a session in. Sadly i can barely play the tin whistle, well, not in public anyways haha to spare the ears of the crowd.
Starts a bit slow Kanuck, but as others have said - awesome! Well played. I have a Howard drum, been playing for about 4 years, and love it. I'm about to step up and buy a Roddy Turner drum this year. I love to play along to Planxty, you should have a go, and upload it, I'd like to hear that. How do you keep the quality of the vids you upload? Mine lose a lot when sent to Youtube?
thanks lad. My playing has a bad habbit of getting used to tempos at the begining, but hey, im working on it lol. I dont know how the quality stays good, i dont do anything, i just upload it.
Nice, you seem to be quite good at playing. I've just started playing (within the past two weeks), it's a beautiful instrument and it's nice to see an fellow Canuk playing the Irish instrument which I adore very much.
Excellent .. I felt that !!
