I have a question if it's not too late. The keyboard was linked to MuseScore in this video and I want this too. I allready went through the documentation, but if it is described there, I missed it for being too technical.
hi there, im buying an alesis q49 , a usb (midi) keyboard...will it work with that software , if i plug it in my computer? i have a pc btw..please reply..thanks
@MegaDjdream there are forums for questions about VMPK in the sourceforge project page, where you can find other users. I've never seen your alesis keyboard and don't know anything about it.
@Harmonieuniverselle VMPK does not produce sounds, it is not a synthesizer. Please read the project web page, and if you have more questions please use the project forums.
VMPK can be connected to or from any external device, if a MIDI driver is installed for that device.
This screencast was made in Linux without using any external device, it is the output from MuseScore connected to VMPK. QSynth/FluidSynth was used to render the audio, and finally recorded by recordMyDesktop.
I'm sorry to say that MuseScore has butchered this piece, with its constant timing and constant velocity. Literal playback of the score.
I know this is supposed to be a demo of vmpk, so maybe you could concentrate the video more on vmpk's features rather than just watching play back of an uninspiringly played piece.
Hope not to bother you but I have a technical question: I can't play more than 3 sound at-a-time in my pc. How do you manage to do it in this piece ?

I would be glad if you could help me.

@RiiNagaja I am glad to help, but this is not the right place. YouTube does not allow to put web links in the comments, and it is very uncomfortable.
Please everybody asking questions about the program, visit the VMPK forums or subscribe to the program's mailing list. Thanks.

I've created a "Linux Screencast Recipe" topic in the Open Discussion Forum of the VMPK project, in SourceForge.
Sorry, It is not possible to post links here.

Does this work with USB, or only MIDI interfaces?

I agree that this is not a real performance. Nevertheless, I find it pedagogical.
I hope that there will be more screencasts in the future.
