  • at 4:27 mullet alert!

  • Captain Kirk!

  • Why would they send a firetruck for a choking person?

  • @truthsofwolf firefighters are frequently trained as paramedics and can also have first aid equipment. When someone isn't breathing or their heart has stopped, it's really urgent that someone trained gets to them as soon as possible, so if firefighters are close by they can be sent.

  • is ther one where a boy saves his grandmother from choking?

  • Awe that is so sad. But she is ok. Yay

  • Its sad, i lived right down the street from the hospitol and my neighbor was choking, they got there 20 min later- he died 

  • Wow, first response team was there in 3 minutes. I live literally down the street from the fire department and I don't know that they could get here in 3 minutes by the time they get dispatched and drive over here.

  • @epcdaniel and this is why people need to learn first aid for humans and animals

  • "Have you been able to remove it?" haha, obviously not!

  • Granny is such a good actor!

  • I miss my grandma on my moms side

  • Thanks so much for uploading this segment!

  • do the freakin himlic !!!! i choked on a cough drop once nd my dad did it on me!!! im 13 nd i know tht!!! its steal sad tho!

  • they should bring the TV show back for good

  • This one makes me get tears in my eyes. My grandma was the best grandma in the world (I suppose I'm a LITTLE bias, but only a tad), and I loved her more than anyone.

  • i cannot imagin not being able to breathe all those minutes, it must feel like her chest was going to explode.

  • I couldnt imagine not having 911!!

  • FROPVD!!!!! We dont use those anymore...

  • one time when i was little i was at hair place and they would give out the free little candies and i would like to take about 3 and i took 2 at a time and it was big round candies and i would place it both in my mouth at the same time and i was choking and my mother did not notice, but then i walk over to my mother when i was choking and i said i am choking it was not clear at 1st but then she understood and she put two of here fingers in my mouth and i threw up the candy.

  • @papstion if you said "im choking", you werent really choking. You probably had a partial ariway obstruction, or it was stuck in your esophagus as opposed to your trachea.

  • @ICEMANof92 no.......... but i didnt say i was chocking clearly it was kind of a muble but i think my mom under stood what i was trying too say

  • @papstion I see. I guess your speech is as garbled as your typing.

  • @ICEMANof92 really??? you change the subject form choking to bad writing? just shut up please and thank you

  • @ICEMANof92 You must be very stupid. You can be choking and still be able to say something to let someone know before your airway becomes more blocked. Go back to school and learn some common sense.

  • @ICEMANof92 hey im that person who was on that pastion account and who wrote about me chocking on the candies sorry for being so rude i was younger now im older

  • @TheDancinDogs No worries...

  • @ICEMANof92 thanks!

  • those rolls look real good though :\

  • that was a big bite of bread

  • she will never eat bread again.

  • I had to do to the Heimlich Manouver on one of my friends in high school. we were on the bus and she was choking on a gumball. everyone else didn't know what to do. i had no training at that time i just had watched my mom do it before and i acted on instinct

  • i hate choking!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I've choked twice once when I was ten and once last year. Last time I almost died.

  • Little bites people! Little bites!

Glad she turned out to be okay though.

  • I wonder if there are any archives with these videos

  • my uncle was chocking and why my mom and granmother helped me my brother and sister hid behind the fridge

  • Those poor grandchildren because they don't know how to do helmich. That girl just go to into panic when her grandma. She's worst than her brother. She should keep calm and followed the operator instruction

  • During abdominal thrusts, you'll want to turn the patient's head to the side, unless you want to get whatever she or he regurgitates on you.

I'm talking about more than the object she's choking on.

Most people don't know how to do abdominal thrusts that decrease rather than increase gastric distention.

The more distention, the more the patient will regurgitate from the stomach during the thrusts.

The first time I did the abdominal thrust procedure, I got the patient's stomach contents on me.

  • @vickiormindyb The latest CPR training I received says chest compressions instead of abd. thrusts for an unresponsive pt. I wonder if they're as effective.

  • @ICEMANof92 According the The Physicians' Panel, who makes all these rules, they're better, b/c it keeps blood flowing until professional help arrives. Even w/out medical intervention, keeping the blood flowing through the heart helps increase the likelihood of successful rescue.

Also according to the Panel, even a person w/out ANY training can do the compressions. Just, if they don't have training they're not allowed to do any airway sustenance.

  • @ICEMANof92 Also if ALS is not available or if rescue arrives to the scene first suction could also assist in pulling the object from the airway, that is if it is visable...

  • Heimlich Manouver or however you spell it. Should've done that firstly while somebody else calls 911. Learn The Heimlich Manouver Please. It will probally really help save some lifes

  • I always tell them the best way to help the person they're trying to help is to do what I tell them. Then I remind them that I know they want to help the person and that calming down is the first step to doing it.

I tell them how to breathe to be calm themselves, but I remind them-when necessary-that they're not going to feel calm. Feeling calm and being calmer b/c of breathing exercises isn't the same thing.

This method has only failed to help one family member in all the years I've done it.

  • thunderstorm warning at begining, hope everyone was ok!

  • The choking grandma actress in this episode is my ACTUAL GRANDMA!!!!!!! LMAO She's such a celeb! Go Gammy!

  • @lainyp2404 She is?! Golly! How's she doing today?

  • I'm happy Granny's okay!!! This reminds me when my Tata was choking on meat when I was like 8 my cousin and I cried we so thought he was gonna die but luckly Ray knew the Hemlic.

  • One of our EMT's, who's obviously never seen an emergency in his family, mentioned that he 'dislikes helping so many choking grannies.'

I told him to get a different job if he doesn't like the one he has and to never make a statement like it again.

He gaped at me, as if he thought I were being ridiculous.

I think having actually witnessed my sister's emergency makes me better able to understand the family's viewpoint.

  • How in the world do you choke on a freakin dinner roll?

  • @triezen007 as easy as anything.

  • I made up a story where I choked on a blueberry muffin. Luckily I was OK when the paramedics arrived. I learned to swallowed one bite before taking another.

  • love it!

  • jeeez...this woman needs to calm her ass down....

  • haha choking granny why would they name it something lightly like that

  • choke granny choke!!!

  • @surgednb Wow. Thats really nice. :) . Not.

  • @pawfectpetz you're just jealous that you didn't come up with it first xD

  • @surgednb No, I just feel bad for the helpless eldery lady..

  • @pawfectpetz ...lol

  • @surgednb I feel like your 1 of those people who dont care.. oh well, shes fine. I feel bad for you.. but its your loss!

  • @pawfectpetz ....lmao!!!!11

  • @surgednb Immature.

  • @pawfectpetz roflmao!!!!!!1

  • @surgednb Im not going to reply anymore. Bye.

  • @pawfectpetz ROFLMAOCOPTER

  • You should have seen the way my mom acted the night my 7-yr. old sister almost died. She knocked over a potted plant, our decorative butter churn and trapped me behind a heavy living room chair.

And the paramedics let her go upstairs w/ them-mostly b/c they weren't going to stop her-but made US stay DOWN stairs.

I kept wondering if my sister was going to come down alive; she lost a fourth of her blood volume.

  • That's WRONG! I would scolded them,"DON'T YOU TELL ME WHAT TO DO IN MY OWN HOUSE!" I said those exact words to firemen at my parents house when I lived at home. We had an electrical order and I was gonna show them where the curcuit breaker box is; it was hidden in the wall when one said to stay upstairs. I scolded him and went on to show where the box was. It turns out it was a part in the furnace and we got it fixed; would not have caused a fire. I don't take crap from firemen.

  • @AFGSANFORD2 We're supposed to tell you to stay where you are, or everyone and his cousin will try to do our job for us--then turn around and sue us when THEY do the wrong thing.

If you don't also have firefighter training, then you probably won't be able to help w/out making the situation into one where WE get sued.

So we have to give the directive, whether or not we want to. Legal issues.

    I'm a trained firefighter.

  • I'm not saying the actual events are funny, but some of these reenactments are kind of goofy XD

  • YOu are right, :D

  • In this reenactment, he is performing CPR wrong, since you can't do real CPR on a conscious pt. If that happened to my grandma I would be devastated.

  • thanks for posting this! That's my honey who comes running down the stairs to help with granny! We were married December of that year :) (I'm not in the episode if you're wondering.) Still my hero tho after all these years!

  • That's wonderful! 2 questions: did grandma come to the wedding and are there any children your family now?

  • sorry- my husband (Mike) is not a relative- he was living in their home at the time but we have since lost touch with the family

  • Oh, sorry. Was he just someone you loved? What are you up to today?

  • @kalianate How are you and your husband doing now?

  • @ZMommaL56 we are great- we work now helping street children in Rwanda. Ten Talents International.

  • poor lady :(

  • yeah the family they were so slow reviving her....like real slow. like stupid slow.

  • oh no theres a storm warning quick take cover!!

  • I've seen patients look at me like they're begging me to save them. The worst part of it is when they look at me like that, and I can't save them.

I've never been able to be okay with the feeling that creates.

  • I am happy that woman is ok but she stills reminds me of my grandma

  • I miss her so much

  • i am glad the grandma's alright

  • Do they actually give the instructions this slowly in real life? I know the dispatcher needs to calm her and make sure they are doing this correctly, but it seems like he is chatting and asking questions for a long time before he starts to tell them what do do. Meanwhile, she is not breathing.

  • Nice to see you uploading episodes again!

  • The first choking victim I lost was when I worked on BLS.

The lady choked on a pickle she'd stolen from one of those salad bars they have at the grocery store.

The guard walked by as she took it. To avoid being caught, she shoved the whole thing into her mouth. That action caused it to suction too far down her throat to be easily retrieved.

The dr. told us to wait for her to pass out and see if the natural loosening of her muscles makes removal possible. Unfortunately it didn't, and she died.

  • vickiormindyb, I know of a terrible choking incident in a restraunt too! A doctor choked on a piece of steak and went to the restroom. He died and he was A DOCTOR! How stupid, he should have gotten help from the 3other people at the table all doctors no less. A neighbor of mine choked on steak in a restraunt too but he had someone help him and the piece of food flew out of his mouth like a fastball over the plate. However what caused him to choke: LAUGHING & TALKING, a big no no.

  • never joke around when someones chocking

  • Nope. You need ever moment you can spare to concentrate on helping the person choking. I've choked a few times and its very scary.

  • @baseballxxxxx CHOKING

  • love this show. allgood2000 rocks!

  • @baseballxxxxx true that!

  • never hit them on there back when choking an less there an infant

  • nice to see the credits at the end, too :-)

  • The real granny shown at the end being handed the flowers and eating at the dinner table is completely different from the granny throughout the segment being giving the heimlick and who we see choke.

I guess having the real grandma choke for the re-enactment would not be something she would not want to go through again. That's understandable.

So they got an elderly actress to play out the situation for her.

  • 00:23 a WALTON'S look alike home.

  • From what I saw, it looked like she was wearing dentures. They are definitely a cause for that.

  • There are 2 differnt grannys...

  • great episodes, thanks

  • January 16 is my birthday. I was four on that day. Not that I remember it or anything. :-P

  • That was an amazing eposide I hope you get more up in the feautre thank-you so much for sharing make sure you check out my channel and comment me if you want Quadracer687 (Laura)

  • 02:58 she's out the screaming reminded me of #102 "cpr baby".

  • It's RON SILVER!! aka KG

Meaning KG looks so much like ron silver!

  • I can imagine one day having our 911 calls taken by people India. This guy is reading the script like I could imagine them doing.

  • thank you

  • wow a lime green mack pumper in this segment that fire truck reminds me the twin mack pumpers in town a long time ago

  • here's what's not here "Christmas bulb choke" because allgood2000 says it's too long but it would be a great segment to compare to.

  • the firetruck and ambulances in yellow reminds me of a segment not here, boy stuck between table and sink the one without saying the name of area maybe that segment was here?

  • I meant Vancouver washington, clark co.

  • 00:48. was used in the "Rescue 911 episodes i'm looking for" video

  • finally the my name in initials said backwards segment K.G. mine would be G.K.

  • i remember watching this on youtube before.

  • Moral of story: DONT GIVE GRANNY ANY DINNER ROLLS!

  • Interesting segment. This is the first time I seen the closing of Rescue 911 on youtube (since 100 Lives Saved and 200 Lives Saved).

  • WBAL when from NBC To CBS Then Back to NBC.

  • Great segment! Thanks for posting! Looks like the Hard Coppy promo was what cut off the end credits. Haha!

  • when shatner said "january" at the beginning, he sounded strangely british to me.

  • This is the 1st segment ever that I was able to tell that the grandmother was not the actual grandma being saved.

In other words, an actress played the grandma throughout the situation, that is untill the end in which the real granny was shown.

The grandma shown given the heimlick was a totaly different lady then the actual grandma shown at the end.

  • The grand daughter is kinda...dumb.

  • :D yay
