  • I think unfair to say it's bad he's a bad actor. Hes a good actor whose done some bad films. If you watch A Time to Kill, The Lincoln Lawyer or this they're all really good performances and good films too

  • Matthew McConnaughey, you sir are one of the worst actors in history and you need to just go away! You suck donkey ass - Stewie Griffin

  • @DCfreak87 I think someone is a little bit jealous.. Do you really think that if he is that bad as you say he get's to play in allot of movies?!?! Dude.. just think.

You can say you don't like the actor but you can't say he's a bad actor..

  • MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY is ONE of MY FAVORITE ACTORS OF ALL TIME!!!!!...

  • His finest role.

  • I live in West Virginia. I am a WVU fan, but this movie was a wonderful movie. and I think that having Matthew McConaughey play this part was an excellent choice. I think that he did a terrific job. This was a very sad movie, and it makes it even more sad knowing that this is a true story.

  • love this movie

  • matthew has a can a dip in his back left pocket

  • I love Matt I live in Longview Texas where he grew up, and he is our hero we loved the movie matt!!!!!!

  • I love this movie which it was filmed in my home town in "Huntington" (WV). It was a BIG deal when warner brothers was in town filmin this movie. They told the story exactly how it happened from detail to detail, it is very sad that all of the football players and the the others that was on board that lost their life, I myself turned 6 yrs old when that happened but my momma told me that it was cold, rainy, and foggy when that plane had crashed. Remember "We Are Marshall" Go! Herd!

  • somos marshall aunque yo soy de mexico

  • 4of4)As I said, I've seen this movie 5 times, I see and hear something different each time I see it. It's so good in this time of terrorists running around, high gasoline and food prices and the world in trouble to have a good movie like this. I wish Hollywood would make more of them, fantastic job,

  • (3of4) It would be quite a job to come in and try to step into the shoes of the former Marshall football coach. The whole situation was so tragic, a whole town affected by the loss of 75 people. It would be so hard to continue on after something like that much less try to rebuild a football team but they did it.

  • 2of4)I think he's a good actor too, he really gets into the character. I don't know how closely he portrayed the real Jack Lengyle, I can't find anything about him except at the end of the movie it said he resigned in 1974. He went to the Naval Academy and took charge of their athletic program, was later put into the Hall of Fame and is retired.

  • (1of4)I love it when Hollywood makes a real feel good movie like this We Are Marshall. I've watched it 5 times and each time I tear up and can feel the pain, sadness, glory and all the range of emotions the people who were involved in the movie were asked to portray. I think they all did a fantastic job, I like Matthew McConaughey as a person, he comes across as being sincere.

  • Meda01 thats the way he talks in real life you stupid prick, dont be jealous

  • he has a tin in his back left pocket...McConaughey is a dipper

  • Apparently coach liked to go get drunk on 4th avenue every night too haha Pretty funny to see McConaughey in the bars around Marshall during the filming

  • Can anyone tell me when the phrase "We are Marshall" started being used? I was 14 yrs old then but I remember the horrible incident. I don't recall that phrase being used until years later. Very good movie I might add.

  • I believe it was in the mid-80s but I could be wrong. I graduated from Marshall just this semester and that's what I was told.

  • wait wait wait is this a joke? I can't even tell if he's actually being serious.

  • hes yummy!

    ohhhh YES :]

    ilh

  • Good call eddie. This guy is a bag that is filled with douche.

  • what a douchebag

  • he looks great in green n i love this movie we wa watching it in gym wen r teacher wasnt hera but u know its like 70 people in my class so i couldnt hear everything but it was good

  • I think he got WAY to into the role. lol

  • How can a man who's doing his best to sensitively, yet realistically portray a real, living person, who experienced what this coach experienced, how can he "get WAY too into the role"? That's about as asinine a statement as I've ever read, the "lol" notwithstanding! It's like saying that an athlete is "trying too hard" to do his best!

  • Yes, their are plenty of people who try TOO hard to do their best. Just like how here, when he's supposed to be an ACTOR talking about a CHARACTER he's playing, who's based on a real person, instead he's staying in CHARACTER for a movie which finished filming months ago. This makes him look like a joke and makes the whole interview look like a big joke. By doing that, he's making himself and the movie look bad.

  • And since you're so impassioned about this, I'll give you an example from what you gave me. It's like if an athlete keeps running around the track even after he's won the race. That is trying TOO hard to make yourself look like a committed and powerful athlete. That's what it looks like McConaughey is doing. I find it funny, but guess you see it as a great form of art....maybe he should've gotten some awards for his performance in this interview.

  • Meda01... I'm not trying to spar with you here or anything like that, forgive if I came across that way or so "impassioned about this". But, I'm thinking since they have a "lockerroom set" complete with MU uni's and logo on the wall, and had the actor dressed in costume, that possibly having him in character and showing the nuances of the coach he was portraying (as they did) is exactly what the interviewers were after.

  • And to use your example, I agree, if an athlete kept running around the track after he's won the race that would be being a bit too impassioned about what he's doing. But, I think this would be more like the athlete showing an interviewer who asked months later, to show what he did to win the race in question. JMO and I apologize if I've offended you here... not my intention.

  • Well, thanks, that's probably the first time someones ever corrected themselves or me about in a civilized way...kinda makes me look bad lol. Sounds like I did misunderstand what you were saying and sorry for my more then necessary response. I wish some of the other people I talked to responded as well as you did.

  • the two of you should probably die, way too much insight on youtube comment wall. you have wasted my time, and you have wasted my brain cells to process your comments. get a life.

  • First off, if you didn't like what we were saying, or couldn't even understand it, why did you keep reading it? Second, it's just sad for you to tell us to get a lives when we're having a conversation and your the one reading it and posting what you think of it when it has nothing to do with you and no one has asked you about it.

  • Because I am obsessed with you

  • mmmmhmmm ;)
