jus wondering why nobody ever SAWS the tires back n forth next time wen u see ur getting stuck start turning left to right,,gives the tire the advantage of more bite and uses the sidewalls sipes to grip,, nice K5 tho!!
i have owned a 77 blazer, and a 79ford bronco, Bronco was better, chevy broke down allot on me, ford always took me home. this is just my experience over 25yrs of 4wheeling.
i also owned a 99 jeep, 84 and a 79.
best of the 3 would have to be the Jeep, BUT i could haul ALL my camping gear in the the 78 bronco, not the jeep.
As for the chevy's they seemed to always break on me, i would have to get a tow or walk home.
Not the ford or the jeeps, none of them ever required me to walk.
i love the big k5 blazers!!! i owned one a while ago, loved it to death. now iv got a 92 s-10 blazer. i treat it almost the same, and try to go through the same kinda mud and other shit with it lol. i want a k5 again though
The bumper is a piece of 6 inch drill pipe. The brush was for mid 90's chevy 1/2 ton. We got bored one weekend and put it all together. The only bad part is it weighs alot!!! We had to use a engine hoist to mount it on the blazer.
Thornbirds were made for sand, they dont clean themselfs out like boggers or TSL's do, tread is to close together. We had then on our blazer then switched to boggers, HUGE difference
I would recommend some TSL super swampers thats what i changed to and they are amazing but it looks like you had some fun but gettin stuck is always the fun part you should check out my vids if you get a chance

My Blazer here was originally a 305 with a 700r4.I went through 9!! of them before converting over to the standard 4 speed that you see here.
codytr1 2 years ago
"I went through 9!!" Wow, what a weak tranny :P.
Ergock 2 years ago
7 of 700r4's were under warranty the other 2 were salvage

i wonder what engine he has i have a 86 with the 350
TexasRejectsleader 3 years ago
My engine in the vid was a 355 with a granny 4speed and 4.56 gears. I am installing a 454 right now
codytr1 3 years ago
how much did the 454 cost?
TexasRejectsleader 3 years ago
It was 60,000 mile motor with all the brackets and acc. I traded a Glock 23 for it
codytr1 3 years ago
Get some MudSlingers or some Thornbirds. Careful using Thornbirds on the road, though. Pavement tears 'em up good.
420witchdoctor 3 years ago
Dont ever get thornbirds for mud, worst mud tire ever
rndmsoldier 3 years ago
Well, they did alright on my ol' '88 'Yota pickup after I got the Dana's I had wanted for it. But the mud up here in Oregon is pretty thick.
420witchdoctor 3 years ago
Thornbirds were made for sand, they dont clean themselfs out like boggers or TSL's do, tread is to close together. We had then on our blazer then switched to boggers, HUGE difference
rndmsoldier 3 years ago
May have been made for the sand, but I got them for 300 dollars with 85% tread left. They did pretty good with the lockers.
420witchdoctor 3 years ago
