I use one of these to transmit all over my town. But once by accident I had a small radio turned on nearby the microphone when I was using the microphone, and I think it may have caused some feedback. Will this do any damage to the transmitter, and is there any way to repair it?
looks like everyone is having a bad time with this transmitter! yes, it it rather cheap but i use a very nice j-pole antenna and mine transmitted perfectly for over 10 hours straight and is still in perfect working order! never use the piece of junk 1/4 wave antenna that comes with this transmitter it has very bad vswr, never people i'm telling you this for a reason, buy or build yourself a j-pole! do research about fm broadcasting!
@republicansarecool yes, ebay is the best source. you need to pay attention to both the antenna and coax cable, buy rg8x coax or better, lmr400 is the best but very expensive, on ebay you can search fm broadcast antenna and get the j pole 1/2 wave antenna but if you want the best antenna, i recommend the dominator 3/4 wave antenna found on ebay or in wavematch communications website (google search it) good luck, i'd like to hear about your success!
@BlGDOG18 thank you a lot~ I looked on ebay for the rg8x coax cable and it says ham cable, still work? I have another question, can you use TV cable you know the cable on the TV to outlet, will that work and 2nd which antenna would have no trouble broadcasting around some trees.
@republicansarecool rg8x cable is good because it is designed for ham which is fm up to 1000 watts. yes tv cable which is rg6 is good for up to 25 watts fm transmitting but if you go over that you should at best use rg58, rg213 or better to prevent any reverse power. and any of the antennas below will have no problem broadcasting around near by trees especially the 3/4 wave dominator! height is the most important. the higher you go the better so a mast at least 30 feet will be very useful!
@BlGDOG18 Oh wow thank you a lot!! I live on the 2nd floor of a aprtment and there is a couple of trees in the balcony area, ot too much. Will I have to make a mast all the way up to the roof or just let it sit on the balcony, i fear it will only broadcast straight and not in a circle because the building you know what I mean, and also I can use TV cable, i only have 20 watt Transmitter so is ok?
@republicansarecool to be safe, you should put the antenna at least over the roof if you can. it can just sit on the ground if you want to test broadcast, the j pole or dominator antennas are great for that since they are dc grounded! the closer the antenna is to your transmitter, the more likely the final stage amp on your transmitter could be damaged due to reflected power. tv cable is good to use at your power level, especially for short broadcasts, even long ones probably wont hurt anything.
Mine was broken within two weeks. Never powered it up without antenna. Kept in cool place. Just became fuzzier over time. Something inside, obviously burned up. Cheap parts. Some parts are glued instead of soldered. Live and learn.

@lolcats121 No, that will not damage it. It's just audio feedback.
