i have a palm pre, it has been dropped on my drive way, hard wood floor, out of my car, on my tile floor, down a flight of stairs..and stepped on my trampole. Oh it also got dropped in a puddle. and it still works. no cracked screen or anything. my battery door was completley scratched but i bought a new one and a zagg protector off of ebay. I love my palm pre...why would you kill it on purpose? iPhones are over rated. my brother had one..he got the evo.

The owner of the phone, my coworker, did not break the screens because he was clumsy. Enter the phrase palm pre screen cracked into a search engine and you will discover thousands of people having the same problem. Palms forums come up as the first link and the threads there further explain the situation if anyone was curious and eager to research this issue. I understand that it was an issue with the first wave of the devices, and the problem has been since corrected.

Now my contention lies with the number of comments, attached to this video itself and on other forums where this video was embedded or linked to, where the poster wishes harm upon the person drinking the beer in which the mobile device was placed. As an owner of a palm pre who loves the phone, I can attest that the screen cracking -is- a problem. Mine cracked while sitting on the counter 4 days after I bought it, charging. No falls, I babied it like a newborn, it simply cracked from the button up. Palm replaced it for free because it's a "known issue".

Would I rather have an Iphone? Yes, but not on the AT&T network. Give me an Iphone on sprint and it'd be no-contest. In the meantime I love my Pre, cracking screens and oreo-effect aside.
