*speechless* i did not know there was a canto version of this already beautiful song. It doesnt matter what language you listen to this song in; it still resonates deep inside of us. absolutely beautiful.
@Ame9312 We are *listening,* so, neither (chinese is written). I am early in my learning of Mandarin, but enough to recognize some words and I don't recognize ANY; I don't hear the famous Mandarin R sound - or ANY R's, actually. So my best guess is Cantonese.
Google translate supports this; I found the chinese lyrics, and google's "read phonetically" function shows differnet pronunciation (they use mandarin). Wikipeda says G.E.M. is cantopop & mandopop singer. So again, I say CANTONESE. :)
@Sp3ctre18 ah, thank you! :) and I never knew there was such a large difference between cantonese and mandarin. I've done Japanese for two years and just imagined it would be simalar to the different dialects!
@Ame9312 np. Yes, quite different because they're NOT dialects. There are many languages in China; naturally many dialects as well. Mandarin and Cantonese are NOT understandable to each other though there are similarities among them. Cool, I've also been learning Japanese for 2 years. I started Mandarin because the Japanese makes it easy to get into.
@Dancerww & @CharlyChan, thanks for the confirmation. And yes, I'm aware there's no R in Cantonese, though I only recently learned that! :)
@Sp3ctre18 ah, you've taught me something now! I've just started learning Hindi but in a couple of years if I take up another language I now know what I might try my hand at, thank you!
@Ame9312 omg, who the freak are you? Clone! Monster!
I'm also learning Hindi! Though out of the languages I'm learning, it's at lowest priority and I only know a few random things. I try to learn a bit more when I have the chance.
If you're going to reply, might as well send me a pm so we don't hijack this video's comments lol.
