I dont get why everyone rode the Big Dipper and not the Raging Wolf Bobs, RWB was a great wooden coaster nice long ride too, Fucken Six Flags killed that place to the point of no return...
@Thrubee69 rlly i didnt even c pix of this park till aftr it wuz closed and it looked rlly fun plus it wuz a 3rd park 4 ohio i wntd 2 ride almost evrything there
Some people need lern how rite an spell. Remember your english and grammar lessons? I haven't been there myself, I just hope they're able to find a home for the Raging Wolf Bobs and the Big Dipper. The Big Dipper is one of the worlds oldest and the Raging Wolf Bobs was built in the same style as the Bobs coaster at Riverview Park near Chicago which is long gone. It's sad to see our history and tradition go by the way side in the name of a companies profit margin.
It's sad indeed. Hopefully those coasters will find a pleasant new home park that will take care of them. However, from what I've heard of Villain it can go to the scrap-yard.
My honest opinion is that it was closed from Corporate & Marketing interference. This corporate america & they don't care about our feelings. Only their big fat wallets, caddy escalade, sugar mama & bahama resort. I grew up with this park & now being a parent, it was cheaper, more kids stuff & closer than cedar point. We'll sure miss it. R.I.P.
I'm not a big roller coaster fan but it sucks that they are closing. It's been apart of Ohio for over a hundred years. It is kinda creepy to see it closed. It's like being in a end of the world type movie where no one is out.
stupid cedar fair wanted to close this park ever sense they bought it over in 2004, they kept taking out rides every year to drive away patrons. they assumingly closed due to poor ticket sales, but thats there fault for not doing any wise investments, i wish i had enough money to buy over this park, but i know that wont happen in a million years, even when the property is turned into a condo complex...
Then they would of failed faster. The thing about Geauga Lake is that is was less then an hour away from Cedar Point, meaning it was in the shadow of a bigger park. Cedar Fair saw it as a poor investment to further add rides to it (note how in the entire time they owned it they only added water park attractions?). I am sad to see the park go, it did have plenty of great rides. Guess other parks will have to take them.
It is closing. The reason they are closing is because Cedar Fair pulled the plug on them after poor attendence. The coaster Dominator is going to King's Dominion, X-Flight is already at King's Island, Thunderhawk is going to Michigan's Adventure. I have no idea where Villian, RAging Wolf Bobs, and Big Dipper. RIP Geauga Lake!!!
KINGS DOMINION IS GETTING THIS RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! The only good ones there are volcano, flight of fear, and the hyper sonic, and there giving the hyper sonic away :( o well!
And the right thing to do is to NOT to attend any Cedar Fair parks! The way they handled Geauga Lake was just totally wrong. I suggest everyone hits this company in the wallet where it hurts....take your business elsewhere...
No, the right thing to do would be to stop blabbing about how CF made a poor desicion. Youll be amazed at wat a small group of ppl can do to change the world.
You have no clue about business. If you think GL suddenly closes after 119 years due to low attendance then you missed the last few years. CF sold rides, star attraction rides and you don't think they are to blame? "But they built a water park" some say. And that is all that is left, you still don't think that was CF's plan all along?
so ur sayin that just bcuz people (like me0 r mad @ a company for closin down this place, they should stop goin 2 other gr8 parks owned by cf? idk what id do if i didnt go 2 cp this summer. it sounds like a good way to protest, and its a good idea, but like i said, i realy love cp and i couldnt go even 1 summer w/out it.
There are other parks that are not owned by Cedar Fair. PARC-7, Busch, and Six Flags all own parks that have their own charm, plus the smaller independents like Waldameer, Kennywood, Idlewild, etc.
So yes, if you're mad at CF, don't go to CP. Spend your money elsewhere. It's the only way companies like that listen to their customers instead of their stockholders.

Well look at those coaster mostly empty mid-day. I think If the park was that popular it would be a little more crowded than that.
