I would like to know though why so many women keep going back to violent men or keep choosing the same "type" over and over again when there are other options available. It has to do with the psychological trauma that the abuser inflicts. It's like a chain that keeps the woman mentally bound to her abuser, because he has beat her down to literally nothing, physically and psychologically. He has made her believe that she is nothing without him. It's a very hard cycle to break because of the psychological component. The woman literally believes that the abuse is what love is. You can't blame her for that when it's all she knows.

budatress - You are assuming too much. I did good job as father and husband equally sharing all responsibilities. Based on her false allegations I was instantly convicted and sentenced. It took me three years to recover from the hell she created for her own family without rational reason. Her obvious mental disorder was totally ignored in the court(including documented abuse of our 3 years old son) by judges who were only interested in creating access to my money for their court bodies.

I think violence against women is hilarious. I am a 6'4" 235 lb police officer who uses my job as an excuse to manhandle women half my size. You've never seen an attitude shift so fast. No there aren't as many cases. Yes, men do get abused, but men batterers are seeking power and control as opposed to just physical violence because they are angry. It has to do with the psychological trauma that the abuser inflicts. It's like a chain that keeps the woman mentally bound to her abuser, because he has beat her down to literally nothing, physically and psychologically. He has made her believe that she is nothing without him. It's a very hard cycle to break because of the psychological component. The woman literally believes that the abuse is what love is. You can't blame her for that when it's all she knows.

@smilee5888 The KFACC website has a section called "survivors speak" and "testimonial". it has a poem and a watercolor about domestic violence, also has ""growing up, conditioning" part which explains how a child can be conditioned to expect and accept partner abuse later on.

I think I heard something somewhere that it has to do with their parents. Women look for in a man what they saw in their father (the person who raised them from birth and has lived with her for who knows how many years) so if the father was abusive, then they might look for a man with the same personality

U have to realize that there is a huge mind-control factor involved for the woman. The abuser is not an evil- monster intending to destroy his victim. He actually DOES love her but equates love to jealously, control, possession. He instills in her that this is normal. He convinces her the beatings are her fault too, tells her that it hurts him more than it hurts her. It messes her mind. She now feels guilty for making him hurt her. She apologizes. Cycle continues...

If he were an actual adult, he should know that trust is a huge thing and that he has to simply trust that his wife will do the right thing. If he can't handle that, then why get married? The victim does not usually recognize the cycle, but, instead understands each incident as an isolated one. This is the point where people can help.

budatress - You are assuming too much. I did good job as father and husband equally sharing all responsibilities. Based on her false allegations I was instantly convicted and sentenced. It took me three years to recover from the hell she created for her own family without rational reason. Her obvious mental disorder was totally ignored in the court(including documented abuse of our 3 years old son) by judges who were only interested in creating access to my money for their court bodies.

This was so powerful and so true! Well done!! It is so sad that there are so many people that would watch this and the first thing they have to say is that women abuse also. Abuse is about POWER and CONTROL and yes....that is one way that men can and are allowed to have power and control over women and their children in the WORLD! People need to face the fact that at least 70% of intimate violence is committed by men. Only then will the cycle of violence be BROKEN. Great job!!!!

I think violence against women is hilarious. I am a 6'4" 235 lb police officer who uses my job as an excuse to manhandle women half my size. You've never seen an attitude shift so fast. Those feminist types are so mouthy because they think everyone is equal. A single backhand from someone over 100 lbs heavier is all it takes to convince them of reality. They may start out all defiant but in the end they all cry and beg for mercy. God I love my job!!

My friend who is a police officer says the most brutal Domestic Violence attack he has been called to, was perpetrated by a woman. He said they can be just as, if not more vicious in thier attacks, often using getting worked up into a blind rage.

@deeyou1 No. There is no proof anywhere that women initiate domestic violence as much as men do, or that they abuse their husbands as much as husbands abuse their wives. In fact, all of the evidence that's been gathered shows a startling and very different reality, where women around the world are routinely beaten, harassed, raped, mutilated, trafficked and even killed for no reason other than they are born a woman in a world where they don't matter as much as men do.

No there aren't as many cases. Yes, men do get abused, but men batterers are seeking power and control as opposed to just physical violence because they are angry. I agree, nobody should lay a hand on their partner, but the emotional, psychological, and physical abuse men put on women is much worse. They do it because of male privilege and the belief that it is accurate and okay.

In N. America it is a very good business to defend "abused" woman. Probably close to a million of corrupt judges, lawyers and support workers count on you women to claim "abuse". Man is quickly criminalized and division of his property begins between a woman and her attorneys. Best interest of children is only used as an excuse to justify this legalized theft, at the end the children are left with a vindictive mother who can say no good about her former husband.
