@wavemen1 Airguns used compressed air either from a pump action or from CO2 like the pistol shown here. They are legal for anyone 18+ to purchase and can be fired (generally) within city limits. These have very little kinetic energy and are only used for target practice.

Firearms use bullets that have the propellant in each round in the form of gunpowder. You have to be 21+ to purchase and (generally) isn't allowed to be shot within city limits unless at an authorized gun range. These can kill.

@wavemen1 no problem. I own plenty of firearms but my girlfriend lives in city limits so I looked into an airgun. I suggest getting the Umarex sa-177. It's modeled quite well to the Glock 17, has blowback to imitate recoil, and is accurate. I picked it up the other day from Academy and I'm happy about my choice. I have blowback and I still get more shots per CO2 than my girlfriend's crossman c-11. It does have a long/heavy trigger pull, but it would teach good trigger control for a real firearm.

@wavemen1 A firearm uses powder to propel the round while an airgun uses air from either a pre-filled Co2 cartridge, HPA (high pressure air), filling a chamber manually with air by pumping a gun one to 10 times depending on the gun or compressing a spring with a plunger that when decompressed pushes air out of the end of the barrel.

I have a V-3, and it DOES work with copperheads, but not well. Copperheads are not high quality. We have been using high precision zinc bbs and the gun fires much better. The copperheads aren't accurate, not smooth, and on occasion, spray sparks out the barrel of the gun when firing. This, and all gamo guns, are of high quality, and require a round to match.

technically yes, but this pistol has a rifled barrel which does not like steel rounds. the rifling is meant to basically dig into the soft lead and make it twist which increases accuracy. you can use steel bb's but they will not shoot as well.
