  • YAY! ZERO hates!

  • It actually reminds me of Pokemon Mystery dungeon.

  • The cover art was soooooo good for this game.

  • Majestic.

  • I always thought this was a pretty somber tune. Though not as somber and dark as the Waterfall tune.

  • Killing them mudmen was a b***h.

  • moonrider0: I was hatched a year before you ;)

I played this back when it was new in '94 or whenever and I loved it to pieces

  • I can't express enough how much this game has had an impact on me, I remember playing this game when I was 11 years old or so and I was actually scared at first from the setting and music.. but once I got to this level my fears turned into curiosity, curiosity turned to awe, awe turned into fascination, everything about this level is perfect from the sounds of the stalagmites falling to the sound of your whip cracking against the chests of the rockmen goes perfectly with this track

  • Oh my god i like this game, and i was a big fan of the music tooooooo,

  • Atari 2600 onwards, and time leaning against arcade cabinets lol 1 of my teachers said it won't lead to anything yet here i am working for rockstar lol

  • @TheOmi3333 Nice. Nothing quite like proving a teacher wrong :)

  • 1 of the best unreal

  • I was born in 1992 and i cant say it was bad.I grew up playing Super Nintendo thanks to my neighbour and oldest friend,as well as Mario Kart and other games of the 90's era.It was cool!I wish i was born in the 80's though so i could experience some of the older games

  • @metalpsips cant be fun being 0 years old when the SNES came out :\ . . I was 8 when it came out and I'd had my training on the old NES from when I was like 5 or something. my childhood was epic in terms of gaming

  • Ah, another melody for an age long bereft of today's economy, overpriced education, sparse resources, plastic predecessors, fake crusades, raped innocence, bondage, and last but not least, murdered hope cultivated by both enemies foreign and domestic.

What's better? Being institutionalized to and ignorant of a reality most disconsolate or having enough life to remember a golden day long dead?

  • @caseyburk well said :)

  • @caseyburk Well put sir. Ah, the Golden Age of gaming that shaped some of us into the people we are today. Let us never forget that age, lest we forget ourselves.

  • @caseyburk You forgot over fucking-population...

It's sad...but we are WAY to many humans on Earth...

  • @AndiNeverSlice

    Lmao. Well said.

This is why we can't have nice things.

  • @PTMDLBTSify I think it's a given that we both LOVE this game so yeah sure

  • @PTMDLBTSify I'm just winding you up mate. You shouldn't rise to the bait so easily.

  • @PTMDLBTSify Question: why do you tell such silly fibs on the internet?

  • @PTMDLBTSify Liar liar pants on fire

  • @PTMDLBTSify How can you be commenting on youtube and playing Castlevania at the same time? Are you Goro or something?

  • @PTMDLBTSify Every song in this game fit the levels perfectly. They create a hell of an atmosphere. I especially like the music in the Treasury stage in Dracula's castle.

  • This music is so amazing. it also reminds me of some of the music in Chrono Trigger which is anothor one of the best games ever.

  • @Tim1000064 NEVER EVER compare those two games. EVER. Chrono Trigger's music is epic. Super Castlevania's music is great. There's a difference.

  • @kdreamland lol dude get off your high horse. Chrono Trigger is such an over hyped game by fan boys. Yes it was good but not that good that you can brush Castlevania and its music aside as if its not comparable to the "all mighty, godly" Chrono Trigger. There's a reason Castlevania is still alive today while Chrono Trigger isn't. Also, I'm gonna say it now cause quite frankly, I'm sick of hearing otherwise, but FF7 fucks CT in the ass and out the mouth. Sorry, but that's the truth.

  • @HumorousLOL Brush it aside? I certainly didn't mean to imply Super Castlevanias music as being poor, its a great OST, and I love it.

The only reason Castlevania is alive today is because there are so many sequels about it. If CT had that many sequels, and was on just as many platforms, it'd still be pretty hot as well.

I don't think Chrono Trigger is overhyped, the game speaks for itself, as do we. if every fan of CT said the music was great, and it was actually terrible then.....

  • @HumorousLOL CT appeals to so many people because of its greatness. Not many games are on the same level if I'm honest. FF7 is kinda close....but it doesn't and can't hold a candle, except in obvious ways, such as it has Rumble feature because of the PS Dual Shock controllers, and CT doesn't, but that's just platonic.

  • @Tim1000064 That's probably because most of SNES music sounds the same.

  • The ultimate Castlevania game. The ultimate Castlevania music. I would like to be buried whilst this plays.

  • muito bom.............bom demais+++++

  • @PTMDLBTSify

When i was little playing this in 1996/1997.

It was sad music compared to the rest of the soundtrack.

  • This song always made me sad lol

  • Don't forget to whip the secret wall now!

  • I love the classics, I love where technology is going as well. It's awesome that no matter the generation, we've always had the ability to experience such great gaming moments. I just hope that the new technology graphically won't take away from the quality of atmosphere in a game. In the end, fun rules.

  • they dont make games like this anymore.../ they dont make music like this anymore.....next you dopes will look at 1990s clothing and shoes and say..."Gosh...they dont make true jordache shirts and route 66 pants like this anymore..." Grow up....move on..adapt to change....get a girlfriend maybe....RIP to your logic.

  • The 1st stage drew me in with musical promise. This musical number firmly embedded me.

  • games will never again be like this, games like these give me excellent memories like when i used to spend all day playing this, mario RPG, DK 1 2 3, and on the Genesis Streets of Rage, sonic 2, Pitfall

when i first saw super mario 64 my jaw dropped, me and my cousin stood in KB toys for hours watching the demo over and over.... R.I.P games NOT about graphics and multi player where all you hear is "faggot" "noob" "umad" every three seconds and get called a cheater for having any kind of skill.

  • @MutantX123 I totally feel the same way

  • @MutantX123 Pro tip: There are great new games in existence that aren't first-person shooters.

  • This level of the game rocks. The tune is foreboding and fills my mind with images of brutal inhumanity each time i hear it. When I do it it feels as though Satan is very close by and is about to appear and commit a bloody massacre. I also get an image of human victims being tortured and raped by demons of the underworld. The salvation of mankind now lies in the hands of Simon Belmont. He must prevail!

  • @mydjron

    Really?

    Everytime i hear this

i think of those mosters that multiply when you hit them and that odd color of orange this stage was

  • @KreatorOfDeath1985 Haha that is hilarious, I think of the exact same thing! I can even hear the cross/boomerang flying across the screen and breaking them down when I hear this track!

  • @ChriosM

    And the random water drips

I can play the whole level in my head haha

  • I never played Castlevania on the Snes, so I have to use an emulator to play it. The game is difficult, but it is fun. I freakin' love the music, better than that rap crap.

  • @Warriorsfan0111111 Amen rap is crap and this game is the bomb. Sorry to hear though you never had the privilege of playing its original on the Snes.

  • Even if the best CV bgm were coming with Simon's Quest, this all BGM is fantastic ... I remembered to stop playing only to heard them.

  • This kinda reminds me of Chrono trigger. They don't make game music like they used to.

  • good music, but it reminds me of chrono trigger! ;)

  • @keysoffate4 I'm surprised I'm not the only one...

  • such calming music my favorite song in the game hands down

  • This song is amazing.

    0 dislike prove it

  • This level of the game is fun and the music enhance to the eerie feel that haunts its interior. This kind of dark requiem is enough to call forth the dark spirits from the wicked realm beyond the void.

  • I loved this game when I played it back in 1992, and I love it now. A true hallmark of that era. I used to waste countless hours on SNES... ahh... memories...

  • I get old memories back !

  • I agree. This game/Music had a great impact in me (I was 14 then).

  • i remember after a while of playing this game.. since i knew it by heart.. i would just go about the game humming and whistling all these tunes that i new by heart. amazing music.. i never did stop playing this game.. i downloaded an emulator just so i could do it all over it again

  • Superb! All of the tracks in this game just fitted their respective levels perfectly. Makes you wonder why no subsequent Castlevania title can touch this one sound wise...

  • Man I loved this level. This and the music with the giant chadelier...great stuff.

  • I miss games like this the music usually set you in the mood instead of today's games wheres its all about graphics instead of gameplay long live the 16 bit era

  • these were the times when we would enjoy games not waiting for games to install games and cuss and call pepole noobs AND SHOOTING PEPOLE IN THE FACE

this song is a prime example and took place in the relaxing platinum age of gameing

  • chills and brings back memories :( I miss Super Mario and This Game I remember those god damn monsters that took like 30 hits to kill because they kept multiplying dont know there correct names but good times :)

  • this totally sounds like something that would be in final fantasy 6, it sounds so Super Nintendo

  • I'm so glad to born in 1983!!!!!

  • @moonrider0 I'm so glad to be born in 1994; not because of the awful modern games out there today, but because these classics can be bought for so little. Could you have bought this game for $7.50? Didn't think so. Still, it would be nice if these games were more accepted in modern society. Just because you're not staring down the scope of a gun for hours on end doesn't mean it's a bad game; it's quite the opposite, in fact.

  • @moonrider0 1977 here ^_^

  • @moonrider0 1984 for me ;D

  • @moonrider0 - ...Yes, but the Wii Shop Channel has this game available for a mere 800 Wii points.

Best 800 Wii points I ever spent, except maybe Chrono Trigger and Super Metroid.

  • I came upon a fully orchestrated version of this track somehow a while back, but I can't for the life of me figure out what album it's from. It's one of the few untagged tracks in my iTunes library. A Google search only sends links to remixes or YouTube videos. Does anyone know the track I'm talking about?

  • Hey look, I am 17 and I am enjoying this awesome music from an awesome game...I got it for the SNES and it's sitting next to all my other SNES games passed down to me from my dad.

  • lucky son of a gamer

  • this is one of my all time favorite video game songs, F* it fav songs period, ever!

if the music and direction in games ever catch up to the graphics of today

the real 2ng gen of gaming will start

devs are still building on v1.9 hoping to get a usable multiplayer code ^^

  • this is one of my favorite songs from this game. thanks for uploading man!

  • I wonder if this is the theme music to Lindsey Lohan's Va-jay-jay

  • @thantisman xDDDDDDD

  • this song is beautiful and has a haunting refrain i love this song, my bro played this game, got to the cave and i heard the music and had it stuck in my head for years till i got the game for my snes and my wii, i would like to hear a new version of this song tho

  • I've been playing games from the Atari 2600 to the Xbox 260, but I only remember the music from the nes and snes consoles.

  • @tubernery I didn't know they made an XBOX with so little degrees.

  • I remember 1990. Super Castlevania IV, ActRaiser, and Final Fantasy IV set a new benchmark for music in games. A benchmark, in my opinion, that still exists today. The musicians scoring games these days are always going bigger, louder, and more powerful to the point that they lose the atmosphere of the game. Game OST composers, take note. This is how you push aside your ego and make a stunning, lasting impact on gamers' memories.

  • Back in the day when I was like 12 yrs. old, the theme for this level used to put me to sleep when I would stay up till 5 am playing the game, because it's such a somber tune. Good times.

  • I loved the game even more when I got to this part of it.

  • this theme may have been for a cave but for me-- it made me cry. games those days still make me reminisce of the good old days. SNES forever :_)

  • This sounds exactly like something from Chrono Trigger.

  • I used to think this was scary when i was little =p

  • I remember some rocks looking like metroids in this stage.

  • really a beatiful ost i love this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    from mexico

  • this sounds like a theme for a final fantasy, ughh why can't music in games today be so amazing like this piece, heck this entire game had fantastic music. i would love this game to be remade on wiiware psn or live

  • Word... With the old 2D games, the music was such an essential piece of how the game played... now the games are much more realistic but alot of them lose that atmosphere. Some pull it off though, Twilight Princess is a good example.

  • @kirbycutta Wii, definitely. A remake of this game would be so cool!

  • Hehe, remembered this, the calm music.

  • Thank you for posting this!! It's one of my favorites from the game!!

I LOVE the Castlevania games and this one is the best of the bunch!

    A true Masterpiece!!

  • I'm getting all nostalgic and shit. I miss the good old days.

  • doperoms(dot)com have all the emulators you'll probably want (Atari, NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Game Gear, Game Boy...etc..etc..)

  • omg that where I got all my Emulators and Roms too

  • amazing

    this is beautiful song

the best song of this version are Castlevania

  • WTF is your problem?

  • God games back then, in my opinion were true art in motion. They weren't just games, they were like a whole bound creation of imagination, fun, and beauty.

  • some games still are today

  • While i agree that some are, many are also just stamped out to make money for greedy gits.

    Burn in hell Kotic!!

  • too true

I mean, how many WW2 FPS games do you need to have in a single generation?

  • That´s odd, from what i can see Youtube ate my post.

If one was a paranoid conspiracy theorist one could guess Kotic being behind it. *Shifty eyes*

  • who is Kotic by the way?

  • Robert Kotick (my fault for miss spelling his name) is the big boss of Activision and a grade A prick.

"The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games." Kotick later stated he tries to promote an atmosphere of "skepticism, pessimism, and fear" in his company and, "We are very good at keeping people focused on the deep depression."

Ripped from Wiki, show´s what he´s like.

  • Aha, that one

Still can't believe he said that out-laud in public

Does he really think he'll get people to work for him that way?

Most likely they'll just go-over to some other company instead

  • Well the investors loved it from what i´ve been told, because it gives them more back on their investments if they can force out products that are done with stress rather then commitment.

Heck, if they had their way we would be paying 50 buck to play Pacman number 5024: The Greedening.

Sad realy when so many good developers fall under Activision, but i´m being _very_ carefull of any titles they are involved in. Staying well away from Modern Warfare 2. 6 hour single player, not happening.

  • this is actually what is happeneing to every form of entertainment in the US

  • I would pay any amount of money to have Castlevania 4 on my iTouch, really!

  • u dont have to spend money just get the emulator on it and download the rom very simple

  • how how? please explain everything :]

  • google snes emulator and i think its the first link and just download the super nintendo emulator and make sure you download the rom there should be a list. make sure you get a xbox 360 wired controler it works outstanding

  • I don't think that would control too well...

  • Amazing...

I used to play the game just so I could get to this level and listen to this song.

  • Same here

  • Suberb music for a great game.

  • Konami must of had some of the worlds best songwriters and synth programmers working for them back in the day.

I mean the music on all of the Castlevanias is simply amazing.

  • yo this is a classic game and the music in it was the shit man people that are not from our generation just dont know

  • @optimusP76 so true man... its too bad, they missed some of the best years in gaming... the birth of great franchises.. the leap from 8 to 16 to 32 to 64 bit..i mean, i think nothing in gaming today compares to how we felt when we laid eyes on super mario 64 for the first time...

  • @optimusP76 i am from this generation... but i find it sad that i am one of the only ones who appreciate this game and this music.

  • @ovinizorro

you aren't alone, we are a small society, but we exist for the sole idea that gameplay is more important than anything else, i thank my uncle, who was a 16-bit era gamer for introducing me to this beautiful set of gaming....i love this game

  • @optimusP76

    liar.

I like this music more then most current soundtracks. I also like this game more then most now. and I'm only 15.

  • @optimusP76 this game was released the year i was born but i played it when i was 6 years old, and sometimes i'd just die on purpose to keep listening to the music, i mean the music in this game is just amazing!

  • @optimusP76 tell me about it, i wish I could go back, just once. forever.

  • la mejor saga del planeta

  • they dont make games like this anymore when the music and environment set the tone instead of shiny graphics and horrible VA's, games back in this era from snes - ps1 (including genesis sege saturn and 64) used the players own emotions to decide how they should be feeling. the music and enemies make a HUGE impact on the gameplay i for one and sickened with the current gaming industry trying to make a quick buck instead of going for the limit and pushing something new. R.I.P.era of the true gamer

  • @piscespeter3 At least we can thank the big name game companies for allowing us to download these titles (including SCV4) and reminese on them.

  • @piscespeter3 Amen to that. The true era of gaming is gone. Gone for good and the joy we got then we can never get back.

  • @piscespeter3 I AGREE WITH YOU MAN! ALL THE VIDEO GAMES OF THE PAST HAVE A CHARMED TOUCH THAT THE ACTUAL TECNOLOGY DOSENT HAVE.

  • @piscespeter3 hmm...

maybe there are still ppl who are wanting 2 get it back.

...my dream is to bring back the 16-bit era... yes...

i want 2 be as good as what they once were... im learning how 2 program...

lol i hope 2 show the world that graphics are nothing!

  • @piscespeter3 you just nailed it! but lets not forget the glorious NES-era, it was really cool and unique and IMO even more freaky than the snes-era. while many games have been perfected on the SNES, they once started on the now legendary predecessor: a very pioneering and creative era. konami were among the best! thanks for making our childhood that much more memorable!

  • @piscespeter3 A bit overdramtic...

  • @piscespeter3 AMEN! my words exactly :)

  • @piscespeter3

i cannot agree with you more!! amen brotha!!

  • @piscespeter3 Just disgusts me how good we had it back then... and what it's all become...

  • @piscespeter3 tht is very true but they are still some exeptions like okami and soul reaver

  • @piscespeter3

True, but you have to be careful when using emotions, or you might send a player into depression. *coughfinalfantasysevencough*

  • I'm fascinated with this tune. In the beginning, Is that a harp?

  • These music on the game can be a great sounds track for a RPG in this era

  • superb....

  • it's like evil is giveing birth to someting that's pure evil in secrecy. deep within a pitch black cave.

  • where did you download that theme

  • i remember playin this back in da day, my older bro made a comment that this stage music sounded like the garden of eden...i was like, how you know?...hehehe...oh the memories...

  • superb... thanx man

  • love this game!!!!!! i miss being a kid sometimes. :)

  • ahh... good times

  • If you remember this stage in the game, there was also the subtle sound of water dropping from the stalactites onto the ground. It had a subtle echo sound to it. Beautiful track.

  • is it me or does demon castlesound a bit better or is it just youtube

  • remember those stone monsters u had to hit like 20 times to kill, and they would split into smaller ones? good times...

  • There's an orchestral version to this that's really stunning -- it really is a pretty track.

I remember this being one of my favorite levels of the game. :D

  • this one the music is awesome....the one that gets under my skin is the one where you are on a bridge and its like a piano attangement and very sparse....scary as fuck!

  • The bridge... hmm. I'm trying to think of where that might be? Seriously, though, there are so many places in Castlevania IV that creep me right the fuck out -- I know the viney area right before you go up into the castle for the first time, with all the broken statues, is one that always made me shiver. They do atmosphere in this game like nobody's business.

  • ow, this take's me back

  • Memorable soundtrack. Castlevania for snes was a GREAT GAME

  • i sitll have it on my laptop so i can play it anywhere i go >.>

  • Ringtone?! How would I pull that off?

  • Me too! great contemplative track very much like the Resident Evil save rooms.

  • Super castlevania IV was one of the bests games ever in snes and is a CLASSIC like Link to the past and super Metroid.

  • spot on, my friend!!

  • It reminds me of final fantasy VII for some reason. Love this music

  • yeah... its like ff7 one of these "magical " games .

  • I have this as a ringtone on my phone.

  • How?

  • I have a USB cable and I synched it w/my cell phone. I went to a website called Mr. P's Castlevania. Just google or yahoo it. It's almost like the Castlevania Bible. Everything Castlevania you could imagine. I also have from this game(Waterfalls,Entrance Hall,Theme of Simon),CV3(Nightmare,Demon Seed,Pressure)CV(Out of Time)SotN(Crystal Teardrops,Dance of Gold,Festival of Servants,)and CV64(Dance of Illusions.)

  • Ok cool.I'll try that,thanx!

  • Very similar too Robin Hood Prince of Theives on the 0:35 mark !!!

  • Loved this one too, still got this game, nice one for posting it !!!

  • This game had a memorable soundtrack. This one was the most relaxing of all the game's music.

  • If you still have the game like I do, you can listen to the soundtrack in the options section.

  • Options section of what Castlevania 4?

  • Super Castlevania IV on Super Nintendo. I'm not sure what you mean but on the 1991 issue the options section had a BGM and a SFX mode you can interact with (possibly as a test demonstration). Many Capcom and Konami games in the early 90s had that option.

  • Yeah. I wish I had that. I played the edition after that. I never even downloaded a rom that had that option.

  • I didn't even know there was a version of S.C. IV that didn't have that in the options.. Good thing I still own a copy of the version that does :P
