  • This is the most beautiful thing I have ever heard.

  • in 1975 I had a heart rendering break up with "my true love". He was a dj in college and played this song dedicating it to me. It's been 36 years and I still love this song and I still hold some semblence of love for him. When I heard Johnny Hartman sing my mind instantly goes back to those long gone innocent college years. This song made me smile and brought sweet tears to my eyes.

  • Absolutely Supreme!

  • so smooth. hartman never got the recognition he so richly deserved because of the racism of the place and times

  • This song is beautiful and sad at the same time....I love this track. Always have and always will. Thanx for the post.

  • Two greatest sounds in the world.Johnny's voice and Coltrane's tenor.May I have this dance?

  • Fabulous!!!!!!!

  • Passionate memories of dancing in a studio apartment with a angel with a broken wing. That love is long gone and over but this song brings the moment back to embryonic begininng. Monte Vista area in San Antonio, TX will always have bittersweet meaning to me. God bless you angel with the broken wing. God bless and a Viva shout out to John Coltrane & Johnny Hartman!

  • If humans had music genes, mine would be producing this song ! If we had a music vibe at any point, that people looked as i would like em to hear that. The simplisity is so perfect that it makes this jazzy song one of the best ever made. A true evergreen.

  • there is so much wisdome in this music

it´s like jazz is connected to everyones soul and shares the pain and joy of life

its hard to describe... sry for my bad english

since I was a little child I love this music.

it´s really sad that there are people outthere who will never notice these genius hartmann and coltrane

  • THANK GOD.Y.ESS :-)))))))

  • These two were made for each other! Absolutely divine listening to both of them..

  • two of the best....

  • breaks my heart , soul and being. pretty much everything!

  • in this moment i m in love with a woman who doesn t want me..why???maybe she s afraid!i dedicate this song for her ..and for her fear...

  • @ticerul

As my mother told me years ago, anyone who doesn't want you is not The One for you. Work on yourself and move to the next level. You'd be surprised what you might find there.:)

    Be well.

  • @TheReturnOfStephan1 i agree with you ,but she s to good to close the door ...i think that she wants me, but she s afraid not to be hurt..in this moment i believe that in a month or two the thingd will be clear...thanks for advise !!

  • @ticerul

As long as you're honest with yourselves, first, and, then, each other, everything should work out fine.:)

  • @TheReturnOfStephan1 ... Well said... Mother's wisdom... treasured advice!

  • @ticerul I've been there before with a man...and I learned a long time ago to let go..and I'm married now to someone

who truly accepts me and loves me and all my imperfections. I never held on to people.

  • @shop4sue thank you for your advise...in this moment i am with a beautiful woman/...i guess that to good people only good things happens!)))

  • Hartman was a hopeless romantic....:) it shows in his beautiful love songs....

  • jazz solo el jazz puede hacer esto

  • I fell deeply in love with John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman the first time I heard this recording. Never has there been a redording of talent that compliments and never overshadows each genius' skill level. It just sends my mind to a place of joy each time, thanks for the blessing.

  • @valreshel So true. I feel a depth of woven intimacy crying out to be worn over the heart. The music seems to express a subtle sadness, but rises to joyful anticipation. Dedicated to You, can be played for lost love, hopeful love, and reconciliation.

  • @valreshel ... I'll second that motion!

  • Along with the two albums that Tony Bennett recorded with Bill Evans, this album has to be the most wonderful musical partnership ever recorded.

  • Often imitated, never duplicated.

  • i think this has to be one of the finest jazz vocalist/instrumentalist relationships ever documented. mercy...

  • Simplemente ¡Magistral!

  • makes even the jaded wanna fall in love again.

  • sublime...to imagine Ella scatting horn harmonics....

  • I don't think I'd like to hear scatting on this album. Its beauty comes partly because of the trueness of Hartman's vocal melodies
