i have sat on distant shores and looked at the full moon shimmering on the waves and wondered who, at that time, was looking at the same moon somewhere else on this blue marble..
This is a wonderful song. Something about the moon always pulls me outdoors on a lonely night...perhaps knowing others are alone and looking up at the same moon diminishes the loneliness...or increases it...hmmm
probably both.. I remember a evocative and extraordinary night in spirits bay on the north coast of New Zealand, watching the big sea roar in with warm winds blowing on my face and a full moon across the ocean thinking who else was looking at that same moon… feeling very far from home..
Hi Mike, just wanted to say I highly enjoyed watching this video. I'm a big fan of songs about towns & locations, which is how I stumbled across this song, ie. Van Diemen's Land & Port Melbourne. I lived in your lovely country for a good 15 months as well, and grew to love the folk scene over there. Keep it up!
hi danschaumann thank you for that kind note.. this song really got to me when i first heard it several years ago and I couldn't stop playing.. many thanks Mike
Greetings Mike, could you tell me a little more about John Warner. I googled him but came up with no one who sounds like the writer of "anderson's coast" perhaps I'm not hearing things well this evening. By the way I find myself revisiting this song a lot, Thanks....................
your voice is so soothing, came on to listen to Pavarotti and found myself once again at your spot. How come only one teddy bear in some videos and three in another, the other two shy?
he started as a folk singer.. in the humbelbums I think..., maybe I should try telling jokes.. ok well maybe not....lol thank you for your kind words.. Mike
I was actually trying to find a Harvey Andrews song "Hey Sandy" and I came across your video. Never heard this song before, but I really enjoy it.. Thanks for the find!
I mentioned earlier.. when I first heard it, the story just captivated me.. two people looking at the same moon thousands of miles apart.. Its really worth learning..
thanks DLL.. that's really nice to read.. I'd love to upgrade all the technical stuff ( I only use a low speck web cam, and do them all again.. I've learnt so much .. thanks again
Thanks for taking me to Anderson's coast. I've always loved the "connected" feeling that watching the moon brings for me... knowing that family across the country and friend around the world see the same moon. It's all ours! Wonderful song, Mike and beautifully delivered. Namaste - Phyllis
Hi Phyllis wonderful words as always.. yes we can all stand on the earth and feel connected to everyone who watches the moon at the same time.. the moon only sets on the earth bound..
There's that D-41 again. What a great song. This is new to me.

The timing is tricky on this one.....is it written to be, or did you simply adjust the timing to "make it your own?"
Would be worth learning, but the timing will screw up my head (lol).

Great song. Subscribing to you has been one of the best things I've done for a long while; it's like having a personal jukebox full of classy tunes.
