Too bad Christian church pastors don't preach the specific origins of these holidays. I have a sister-in-law that once mentioned that maybe we should bake a birthday cake for Christmas. Almost every year there are articles in magazines and newspapers about the pagan origins of the holidays. So it's not what you know, it's what you do with what you know. There is a difference-there is man-made religion also known as false religion and then there is true religion-true worship. At some point true religion branched off into other beliefs and became contaminated. Constantine and many others polluted it with their pagan ideas.

Yes it is true that all other gods are false. How can there be so many real gods in this world and why all the violence and suffering if everyone worships the "right" way and the "right" god? Well, there are Christians that actually keep the Biblical Holy Days that Christ and the Apostles kept - i.e., Passover, Days of Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, Feast of Tabernacles and the Last Great Day.
All Hallow's Eve is actually a Christian holy day, look up its history in a non-biased source. Yea I read some material from the University there at the Vatican where the Catholic Church actually explains how they merged in the Pagan festivities for All Hallow's eve as a way to get people to attend the Catholic Church - people would rather do their own Roman pagan festivals.
Of course before it was adopted as All Saint's day by the Catholics, it was a widespread pagan holiday. It would be nice for Christianity to go back to its Jewish roots.

Well that might make sense if you didn't read the next 3 verses where it says all things were through Him and for Him and He is before all things and that He is the Firstborn FROM THE DEAD. In the beginning was the Word which was God and that Word became flesh (John 1:1-3, 14). Jesus Christ was the Rock of Israel (1 Cor 10:4). He was God before He was Man and now He is God again. He wasn't a created being as is Michael.
john 1:14 says that the word became flesh and resided among us ao that means that the word was actually jesus. And if you look just 4 verses in verse 18 no one has seen god at any time which means that the word was not god because people saw jesus

Yes - last I checked there were 2,878 denominations of "Christianity" in the U.S. alone. That should say enough. I cringe when someone wants to know if someone is a "Christian" - What's that supposed to mean? According to what or whom? What definition? Almost everyone says yes or no. "Seeing" something can have many different meanings .. Like i see what you mean .. is not something i do with my eyes .. see in that sense means to understand... The name Jehovah means more than i am though .. His names has to do with action .. he causes to become. Sometimes the bible can be difficult to understand but I dont believe it contradicts itself. Studying the context of the scripture helps to understand it.

@Bibl3Thumper marriage (weddings) aren't of pagan originality, genesis shows the first marriage between the first man and woman, Israelites also celebrated marriage, and also had marriage feasts, and would go on for days. Wedding rings do come from pagan roots which is why (I found out) some witnesses don't wear them, others wear them because they want to be recognised as married persons. So no pagan celebrations are observed by witnesses

@Conail23 I know a lot of JW's, I've read both the watchtower and awake magazines on many occasions, they are topical magazines sometimes about creation, or history and they also so include bible topics in them, for example one I had very recently was about Gods name and what it means and why it's good to know it. I like them a lot, I have friends that receive them and read them too.
@Conail23 oh also, I've had people and friends say to me that they are a cult but a cult is when devotion of veneration is toward a particular figure or object, they don't venerate a pope or a bishop, they have people who organise their door to door work but that's all, I always take things right from the horses mouth and make informed decisions :-D

@Conail23 Hi Conail, that's not what cult means buddy. The teaching that usually cause people to say they aren't Christian is that they don't teach the trinity. Neither did any of the apostles, disciples nor Jesus himself. They don't put the WT over the Bible lol, the WT and awake journals are topical magazines, they can be used as study aids if people want to look deeper into a certain Bible subject, that's why they put the scriptures in brackets next to each comment to support it.

I don't use youtube to argue with folks lol. the trinity wasn't actually a feature of Christianity until the 4th century. 1st, 2nd & 3rd century Christians did not teach it, that includes all the Bible writers. Apparently the bishop Athanasius came up with the idea of the trinity. The beginning of trinities came from the babylonians and the egyptians, they had trinity gods, that idea eventually found its way into christianity much later.
@Conail23 It's history man, it can be googled, I looked it up myself when I wasn't sure about it, half of me thought that if everyone else teaches it surely it's true, so I researched where the trinity came from, and to my surprise it wasn't a biblical teaching. They certainly don't appose what the bible teaches, for example if history shows the trinity to have origins other than the Bible, doesn't that show others to he opposing christianity? JW's look really happy and down to earth to me!

Almost every year there are articles in magazines and newspapers about the pagan origins of the holidays. So it's not what you know, it's what you do with what you know. We do not celebrate christmas cause we are told to, we do it out of reverence to christ. Santa was based on Saint Nicolas who was the patron saint of sailors, children, and students. He was known to leave presents for children on christmas day. The point is, we don't know wat day christ was born, but we celebrate it so as to help bring faith to ourselves and to remind ourselves what it is all about. Easter is the same, though i agree about the easter bunny and halloween, those are not needed.

Yes it is true that all other gods are false. How can there be so many real gods in this world and why all the violence and suffering if everyone worships the "right" way and the "right" god? Not quite... if I remember right they believe that Jesus and Michael are one in the same... and that Jesus was a created being, which both views are non biblical.

Colossians 1:15 - "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation".
notice how it says that jesus is the firstborn which means there was a time when he did not exist and he had a beggining when he was created. That seems pretty biblical to me

Well that might make sense if you didn't read the next 3 verses where it says all things were through Him and for Him and He is before all things and that He is the Firstborn FROM THE DEAD. In the beginning was the Word which was God and that Word became flesh (John 1:1-3, 14). Jesus Christ was the Rock of Israel (1 Cor 10:4). He was God before He was Man and now He is God again. He wasn't a created being as is Michael.

john 1:14 says that the word became flesh and resided among us ao that means that the word was actually jesus. And if you look just 4 verses in verse 18 no one has seen god at any time which means that the word was not god because people saw jesus

It was the organized Religion of the day that crucified Jesus and no doubt History will repeat itself because the same faction no longer even knows who he is.

Well, judging from all the inqisitions, massacres in Jerusalem, KKK and even WW2 (Since most nazies where religious, truth is that they even had special churches for SS-People only), I'd say that the organized religion is a tad hipocritical since their bodycount is up to about two billions now... So if god is simply a faceless bearded man who invented Darwinism, even though if so: It would be godism, or Christianity, even though that kinda screws it up: I have little problems with god too...

Yes - last I checked there were 2,878 denominations of "Christianity" in the U.S. alone. That should say enough. I cringe when someone wants to know if someone is a "Christian" - What's that supposed to mean? According to what or whom? What definition? Almost everyone says yes or no. How can you realistically answer a question like that? From what I've seen of the masses, I gotta say no, but it has nothing to do with God.

Personally I try not to pick sides between the Devil and God, I mean, so far we've only heard God's side of the story, and if you ask me: I think god's a tiiiiny bit afraid of competition, so I don't know if the eternal damnation is a lie or not. I will wait untill I see the Satan commercial to see who's side I'm on. Because the only non-subjective facts I got so far is that the devil walked up to god's office and said "I quit! I wanna start my own company where everyone's welcome!"...

Jesus said "If you've seen me, you've seen the father." In Revelation he along with the Holy Spirit, and the Father are described as the Alpha and the Omega. I.e eternal beings. That's enough for me.

The bible cant contradict itself ,, We see God's personality in his Son Jesus .. Alpha and Omega .. First and the last means Jesus is the first and last person to be resurrected by God himself .. Jesus will resurrect the rest of the dead.

That is obviously God the father.
In Revelation 22:12-16 Jesus calls himself the Alpha and the Omega. He is identifying hiself with God.
Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." (John 8:58)
"I AM" is a title that God identified himself by to Moses. That is in fact what "Jehovah" (actually Yaweh) means.

"Seeing" something can have many different meanings .. Like i see what you mean .. is not something i do with my eyes .. see in that sense means to understand... The name Jehovah means more than i am though .. His names has to do with action .. he causes to become. Sometimes the bible can be difficult to understand but I dont believe it contradicts itself. Studying the context of the scripture helps to understand it.

@Bibl3Thumper marriage (weddings) aren't of pagan originality, genesis shows the first marriage between the first man and woman, Israelites also celebrated marriage, and also had marriage feasts, and would go on for days. Wedding rings do come from pagan roots which is why (I found out) some witnesses don't wear them, others wear them because they want to be recognised as married persons. So no pagan celebrations are observed by witnesses

@Conail23 I know a lot of JW's, I've read both the watchtower and awake magazines on many occasions, they are topical magazines sometimes about creation, or history and they also so include bible topics in them, for example one I had very recently was about Gods name and what it means and why it's good to know it. I like them a lot, I have friends that receive them and read them too.

@mcbguitartuition, the reason they are a cult is because even though they call themseleves Chrisitnas, their teaching depart completely from the Bible and the fundamental beliefs of ALL Christians, they put their magazine, the Watchtower, above all else, that is a cult. @Conail23 Hi Conail, that's not what cult means buddy. The teaching that usually cause people to say they aren't Christian is that they don't teach the trinity. Neither did any of the apostles, disciples nor Jesus himself. They don't put the WT over the Bible lol, the WT and awake journals are topical magazines, they can be used as study aids if people want to look deeper into a certain Bible subject, that's why they put the scriptures in brackets next to each comment to support it.

HEard it all b4, but the FACt is, the BIBLE teaches the Trinity, that is why CHRISTIANS have ALWAYS believed in the Trinity and that is why jw's are NOT Christian. SInce it claims to be Christian, but subtley opposes everything Christianity teaches, its not Christianity at all but a cult! Also JW communities are extremely controlling

I don't use youtube to argue with folks lol. the trinity wasn't actually a feature of Christianity until the 4th century. 1st, 2nd & 3rd century Christians did not teach it, that includes all the Bible writers. Apparently the bishop Athanasius came up with the idea of the trinity. The beginning of trinities came from the babylonians and the egyptians, they had trinity gods, that idea eventually found its way into christianity much later.

@Conail23 It's history man, it can be googled, I looked it up myself when I wasn't sure about it, half of me thought that if everyone else teaches it surely it's true, so I researched where the trinity came from, and to my surprise it wasn't a biblical teaching. They certainly don't appose what the bible teaches, for example if history shows the trinity to have origins other than the Bible, doesn't that show others to he opposing christianity? JW's look really happy and down to earth to me!

@fuctanyway or simply because the religions that are 'responsible' to teach their people about such things simply haven't taught them, so the people don't know, or perhaps they don't want to know or their reasoning might be that they don't believe the Bible to be divinely inspired so why would they be bothered about applying it?
