@flyingbob5 it's not the hook the traps, it's getting your nose wheel down before you reach the edge. U need to force your stick forward and drive that nose down! Don't try to grab with the hook or you'll never land. You should also see the lever in the pit, it's pretty easy to find, it says "Hook" lol Also, in the FF5 main folder, there is another folder called THE_MANUALS in the there read the FF5 flight companion, it has more detail.
@VeteransGaming the key combination was ctrl K for the hook down, and yes i've landed a lot of planes in fsx and lomac on carriers, I understand the the approach.
@flyingbob5 FF5 isn't lomac or fsx and what I said has nothing to do with your approach, just telling you how to trap your plane once you get your wheels down. RTFM maybe then you'll have a better understanding ;)

@van1980 it does, or it did for me. I'm on Win7/64 (previously Vista) and it worked as normal. Sometimes Nvidia dudes have issues, what kind of gfx card do you have?
@VeteransGaming Nvidia. 500+ hours on Allied Force a few years ago, but when I upgraded my computer it no longer worked. Freezes on me and blue screens.
@van1980 There are a couple fixes out there for dudes like you. All I can say is drop by and we can try to help you get things sorted. We fly AF as well just FYI.

If you open your freefalcon folder, inside there is another folder called _manuals_ open the FF5 flight companion manual and it will cover everything you need to know man. It's not that hard once you get used to it. The trick is to push your nose into the deck when you touchdown in order to trap, basically just throw your stick forward. You still want to have your Hook down, but you're not trying to hit the wires as much as get your nose down. Come fly!

There may be nobody there, but just wait, ppl will join you. Several are on now and we're usually over 10 people on so there are people to help you. ;)

@MrScottEAllen Im not grounded, just been preoccupied, but ill see if i can get on soon. also, it just seems that your jet came to a full spot without any acceleration.
also, yes acceleration can mean speeding up or slowing down.
I can't find the button to lower the hook, can anyone help me?
