  • If you have a million dollar painting, WHY WOULD YOU THROW IT OUT! Nice job theifs

  • @iambac you got that from pawn stars

  • that painting sucks.

  • wish that would happen to me...oh wait whats that? CHUCK NORRIS?! AHHHHH....!!!!!!

  • It was in the trash because it's Garbage.

  • amazing...

  • NICE PAINTING. I'd have snatched it fast!

  • How can you sell STOLEN PROPERPTY???? WHen NOW THE WHOLE WORLD KNOWS it was stolen and use less.

  • Tamayo!

  • If it is verified as stolen, then legally it must be returned to the rightful owner or their heirs, and is not permitted to be sold.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone A statute of limitations applies to this work - the original owner cannot make a claim.

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone insurance probably already paid them for it so I think its kinda like finers keepers

  • @JeffersonDinedAlone They are given a period to pick it up. If no one comes to claim it, its hers. and thats what happened.

  • but will it blend...

  • @AntiquesRoadshowFan You and everyone else on the planet. Duh.

  • wish i found stuff like that

  • Lol at comment below me

  • modern art, what a sick fucking world this is.

love is a very powerful evil in humans.

you All will know what your worth one day.

you sick evil dirty cunts and fuckers.

  • she was problaly covering up for someone.she hid it in her closer for a couple of years.

  • it was stated it had been stolen...why would she be the one to reap the profits from it's sale and not the origional owner? did i miss it?

  • damn i should have sold it straight after stealing it.

  • Art is a joke. how can a bunch of squibbly lines be worth millions of dollars. u have to be a complete moron to pay that much money for a painting. its beautiful yes, but come on. think of all the better places u could spend that type of money

  • Good way to launder the booty

  • if it was stolen, how can she sell it?

  • @reciprocity1967 She never sold it, she returned it, and was given a reward for it from the owner and Sotheby's

  • omg shes the thief

  • Stollen? sounds kind of funcky

  • Hahaha! Good for her!!

  • I also agree if they know it was stolen only 20 yrs ago where is the owner? Or one of his heirs? Considering people are still fighting over stolen nazi paintings and that was 70 years ago, thisseems strange.

  • @ripsaa2003 people , cant you just read the FUCKING description , ITS ALL EXPLAINED

  • @ripsaa2003 ...i agree "Possession of stolen goods is a crime in which an individual has bought, been given, or acquired stolen goods some other way.

In many countries, if an individual has accepted possession of goods or property and knew they were stolen, then it is usually prosecuted as a misdemeanor or felony, depending on value of stolen goods. If the individual didn't know the goods were stolen, then the goods are returned to the owner and the individual is not prosecuted.

  • How did I get from fights in sub way to this bullshit???

  • If its stolen, then why does she get to sell it? I'm confused lol

  • @pepsiturtle22 that's what I was thinking. If they KNOW it was STOLEN, who was the owner? Why can't the persons HEIR make claim to it? Somethings really wrong with this scenario.Wouldn't the police be involved inadverlty receiving stolen property or something? HHHMMMMM

  • @LadyShyye Just read the description thingy, the last paragraph said the painting was returned to its rightful owner and the woman that found it was awarded $15,000. The person that uploaded it has a pretty long description of the whole thing lol

  • Didn't the report say that the painting was stolen 20 years previously. Surely it has to go back to the person it was stolen from. It seems like the only moral thing to do.

  • @artistjoh

if you read the description you would see that the painting HAS been returned to the owner and she gave a 15000$ reward for finding it.

  • @Serenades420

Having read the description it seems even worse as the finder was obviously well aware of the value of the artwork, and hid it behind a false wall in her closet and only after exposure of the missing painting on television did she contact Sotherby's and it was Sotherby's who finally did the right thing and contacted the FBI. The fact that the woman had hidden the painting behind a false wall indicates she knew she should have contacted police. She should not be rewarded.

  • I once found an oil painting in a skip.I brought it home and cleaned it up,then I brought it down to an art dealer that I know and low and behold.....It wasn't worth a penny..... God I love a good story.!

  • The most famous paintings in history are generally priceless- mainly because they are much more beautiful and inspiring than rubbish like this- it was no coincidence it was found in the trash, as it looks like trash. But people will pay high amounts of money for this art because they know they can't ever buy the art which sits in world-famous galleries.

  • @Balendula Stop Hating

  • Come on an elephant did that painting.

  • 19 people threw out expensive paintings.

  • pawn stars will give you 300 bucks for it

  • @WAXTHEFUR

    LMAO!!!

  • @WAXTHEFUR bucks or fucks??

  • @WAXTHEFUR pawn stars?

  • @WAXTHEFUR pawn stars?

  • @WAXTHEFUR lmfao thats right

  • @WAXTHEFUR ...i love that show but pawn shops in general are scammers!!!

  • @SteveSabbai yeah i know something 20k they'll talk them down to 900 bucks

  • you are retarded, I saw a woman with a spider broach she ask 2000 for it and he gave her 15,000, you think that's a rip off.

  • @WAXTHEFUR You ask $300 but I have to restore it so ill do $150.. Than resell it for $1million lol.

  • @WAXTHEFUR lawl so true.

  • Looks like a kids finger painting. Better check the attic of my dads house....some of my kindergarten stuff could be worth freakin millions!!! Woohoo!!!!!!

  • This painting was stolen from me more than 20 years ago. She better return it or split the profit with me.

  • She's gonna be a classic hoarder....

  • @WoordWerks

Everything in New York is over price, besides the taxs.

  • @WoordWerks

Oh Yeah! I can see it now.. The Fresh Prince of New York City.

A dumb ass rich white guy walking around New York City looking drunk with his gay asian friend and Dr. Phil holding both of his hands to his face looking at the tv screen not another remake of Fresh Prince. LOL.

  • @CaronteEmpire

it was stolen. they should be forced to sell it and give her half.

  • As a general rule, if a painting looks darn good it's probably decorative and basically worthless. If it looks odd as heck...something a complete moron would do...it has a good chance of being worth a lot. While there are exceptions of course, this is ture.

  • @biggestdigger

Yeah, I don't get why some fancy rich people would buy worth of crap painting that looks like something You can buy at Wal-mart for 15 dollars and sell it for millions of dollars when the art work itself looks like it was paint from a complete moron or a three year old kid. The only real art that I consider art is the stuff from 1400-1700 anything else is just not really art.

  • @WarshipAngelus It's "art". You were not nominated by the world's congress to define it the WAY YOU WANT to define it as. If anything before 1700 is considered art, then well, that rule out American Art since the country was not even around at that time.

  • Anyone know how much the painting actually sold for at auction?

  • my step dad's grandpa used to collect baseball cards like crazy, after he died his wife threw them all out..............ya....there was a babe ruth rookie card in there somewhere.......

  • thats nuthin i found a buck once

  • I would've thrown that away.

  • lucky her i only found a 80.00painting

  • wow - this is like a dream I keep having, except this lady had it happen for real. Amazing!

  • How often do you see a truly great, talented work of art in the garbage? Never. Because this "artwork" IS garbage. Nice that she saved it and can sucker a big end buyer fool out of a million or so. I love to hear ugly works of art selling for large sums, it just means a fool is being separated of LOTS of cold cash.

  • @hughtub Yeah, the next time that you come across "Garbage" I'll buy it from youo

  • @Valkonnen I have an empty baked bean tin can for sale if you are interested. I'll let you have some old apple cores for £1million as well.

  • how the hell do people find these paintings valuable?? the artists at Marvel comics should be the one being nominated....

  • You know, I was trying to think of something suitably deep and artistic to say about that painting...but good lord, it looks like something a ten year old would paint...a ten year old who isn't very good...just goes to show that it's the "name" and not the "quality" that sometimes sells items...

  • @Wombat1965 That is what my exwife always said-the fact the name rather than the piece sells. Your name caught my eye. I thought I was looking at mine!!!

  • hmmm stolen, how am i going to get rid of this painting and not tell people who i aquired it from?

I know I will tell people i just found it on the sidewalk. Seems unlikely that someone would leave £1 million dollars worth of painting on the sidewalk, then again stranger things have happened maybe the owners really just had no idea of its value!

  • i would paint over it

  • looks like a piece of shit to me... i would use it as fire wood if i never knew

  • great story of intuition... something just told her to pick up this painting, great

  • i bet the person who threw it in the trash committed suicide!!!

    hahahahahaha, dumbass

  • wth?! that's art? hell no

  • @StephenNguyen - doesnt look half bad compared to the stuff ive seen..

  • She didn't FIND that shit on the street. She is part of the SCAM to sell this painting by whoever stole it(probably someone she knows, or works with.)

  • they have the ppl it got stolen frome in the system just saying cose ther are dumbasses on youtube

  • w8 if it was stolen sholdent she give it bck to the real owners?

  • @oliverking1 didnt u hear it was stolen 20 years ago so i dont think they will remember it or they mite even be dead coz the could have been old couple

  • mongolia could rock this painting in the ring

  • she stole it and made up a story

  • how awesome, great find lady!

  • nice cover up to sell a stolen painting

  • well, middle family think it's stupid.... rich people think it's value art... I guess.

  • Middle Family think it's stupid... rich people think it's value art... they can afford it.

  • I've met rich people... they think $50,000 is like $100.

One million... perhaps they can afford it.

  • Well One mans trash Is another Mans treasure they always say!

  • It was found in the rubbish and that is a very appropriate place for something which, frankly, I wouldn't give houseroom to.

Anyone paying $1m for that is completely mad.

  • thats the funny thing about value, everyones opinion is different. you think the native americans gave two shits about gold found in western america?

  • @Zyrog

I am sure they would, and they did. Western America had alot of gold being used in masks and offerings to Gods. Oh, Maybe you are talking about NORTHERN America, and not the Americas....which also includes middle and south. Numbnutts

  • @thomasinnorway I was talking about the only America that counts you fucking faggot.

  • @Zyrog

Hmmmm...well, the America you are refering to didnt exist back then, but was instead created a long time later after they have slaughtered and killed millions of native Americans you dumb undereducated retard.

Oh, BTW, North America also includes Canada, so what you are refering to is the UNITED STATES. man you are dumb.

  • @Zyrog Then you sure as hell weren't talking about North America, 'cause all we can count to is ONE.

  • @Zyrog not enough to take a bath.

  • @Zyrog no. but they sure gave a shit as to what the "americans" would do to get that gold.

  • @Alphabex8 Trade them guns and other useful materials? I don't think you know what you're talking about.

  • @Zyrog booze and a blanket full of smallpox is hardly useful. trust me, i've study Native American history. but, no need to go further because plenty of other people have already responded to your comment.

  • @Zyrog no but they did gave three shits about gold not two and 4 million scalp shits full of white men hair in western america.

  • @tonythekingfisher Enjoy your next nascar event

  • @carnatticous

As one who races classic TVR sports cars in the UK, I would sooner amputate my gonads than attend a Nascar meeting.

  • Anyone knows how much it actually did reach?

  • the person who will buy it for 1 million is a big idiot..

  • Degenerate art!

Hitler was right. This is trash.

i wouldnt hang that in my bathroom

  • @waynegasparro Hitler was right about the idea of degenerate art. The thing is, in a free market, most of this type of talentless art would fail, since most people despise it (vast majority of people I talk to do NOT like modern art). The best art I see today is sci-fi/fantasy based, like Michael Whelan, Boris Vallejo, Luis Royo, Kurt Wenner, Rob Gonsalves, Julie Bell etc. Modern art is really a triumph of advertising and marketing. It sells literal junk for several million dollars.

  • @hughtub

    "Hitler was right"?

Along with "most people"? So we should base our values on those of Hitler and "most people".....and those who believe the "best art" is sci-fi/fantasy based? Dude.....really.

  • @hughtub You mention Boris and Julie Bell, but not Frazetta...You know nothing

  • Comment removed

  • looks like a piece of shit - no wonder it was dumped - then somebody tries to make a hassle about it saying its a million dollars - ITS CALLED MAKING NEWS!!!! I wouldnt piss over that if it were on fire!

  • some of these so call art critics needs a big kick in the head so they can wake up, $1 million wtffff!

  • thats UGLY!

  • How do people even determine what is valuable in art. Especially in like modern stuff. Abstract stuff just thrown on a canvas. I dont know maybe just play it up a lot. Tell the art community that they cant understand your art, act like a cockass, and throw paint on a canvas, then kill yourself. Seems like the recipe for being a legend these days.

  • Looks like she vomited all over it

  • Well,true,nice price for garbage.

  • i once saw a crappy looking painting in an alley of a rich area in downtown miami beach a few years ago....maybe I missed a million dollar opportunity

  • @leoamar4385896 probably not. this was just an exception to the rule. but im sure you will jump on the next opportunity

  • damn right. Anything you brought on to roadshow is 1000 times more than what you got it for. Junks + Roadshow = PROFIT!

  • I would throw that trash out also...the big joke is the fool who buys it!

  • lol

  • It is truly amazing what gets thrown out. Perhaps Billions of dollars of art and other rare items have been discarded as garbage. And what is funny, I wager that most of the items are tossed out by people that could really use the cash.

  • hoarder!

  • you shouldnt be able to make money off of stolen property. if the mona lisa was stolen and i found it 20 years from now, do i deserve to make money off of it?

  • Let me answer your question with a question. If you did find the mona lisa and you were given the chance to make $200 million from it, would you simply turn away the cash?

  • i'm not saying that i wouldn't want to make 200 million, nor am i saying that i would turn down the offer. but i dont think anyone should be given the chance to make any sort of profit from something that was stolen. (and BTW the mona lisa is worth waaaaay more than $200 million)

  • You would take the cash yourself, but no one else should? Interesting isn't it? Some may say hypocritical...

Oh and something is only worth what someone will pay for it. The Mona Lisa is a priceless work of art and is not for sale, as far as I'm aware it's still hanging up in the Louvre and last appraisal was done many moons ago at $100 million. The figure "200 million" was pulled from the air. The true value is immaterial to this discussion anyway.

  • @Seston, I can't imagine why the Mona Lisa is worth that much, because she's an ugly bitch.

  • @TomTresh3, I would hold Mona Lisa hostage and demand a huge ransom. :-D

  • Actually, I just did some further research, it looks like this lady did return it to the original owners (which is the decent thing to do) and they sold it in auction and gave her $15,000 for finding it. Everyone is a winner! :o)

  • The woman who found this received a $15,000 reward for turning it in and also got a percentage of the $1.05 sale price.

  • she didnt steal it, it was going in the trash. ud do the same thing and take the money if u were in her position

  • i didnt say she stole it, i said it was stolen. and you shouldn't profit from stolen property even if you were not the person who actually stole it.

  • yep

  • it doesnt even look nice... a chicken from a farm can scribble a nicer painting!

  • typical mexican quality.. they even paint half assed

  • hahahaha. you should be slapped.

  • Shes the one who took it in the 70's, 20 years ago... Heh won't it go to the one who it got stollen from.

  • As they say, "one man's trash is another man's treasure." I'd probably thrown the painting away myself.. it's not my cup of tea.

  • fuck me

  • shoulda sold it on the "black market" and made her million

  • tomato's a genius

  • If i threw that away then watched this i would probably hang myself :)

  • wow stradivarius you are stupid. What you say is ridiculously unreasonable. It's all about having things that are relevant to you. If you had a something of little utility you wouldn't sell it to buy things that you actually want. I'm sorry but that was just so stupid i had to say something.

  • Tamayo!!

  • I don't get why people would what to sell it. Isn't the point of selling an expensive item is to buy expensive items? That doesn't make sense, I would keep the painting.

  • dumbest post ever! seriously. Reading youtube comments sometimes makes me lose brain cells!

  • Why is it dumb? All I said was that I wouldn't sell it.

  • but people find other things have more value then art

  • well sumtimes people have expensive items they dont need and there is other expensive items they need/want. so they wud sell it to get the other things they want/need.

  • I say give her the money and an extra 2 mill for the TV appearance and another 7 mill from the taxpayer, let's make it 10 mill, sounds good.

  • she better have given that back if it was mine and she sold it id kill her

  • "she better have given that back or i'd kill her"...fck of u fckin little fool lmfao..go suck on your mammys saggy ass tits little boy....

  • haha have a cry about it you pathetic, weak loser just because you have a crush on some random cunt off youtube doesnt mean i want to hear your pathetic shit. youre jealous of me because yorue a weak fat ugly faggot who sucks the cock and has no mates, maybe one day youll get a girlfriend, i doubt it though seems yorue such a pathetic internet loser

  • but if it was stolen shouldnt it be returned... and what made it soooo special in the first place its not that great...

  • are you stupid, do you know anything about the value of art.

  • When I was a kid I found some old football cards in a dumpster. One of them was a rookie card for a hall of fame quarterback worth hundreds of dollars.

One person's trash can certainly be another's treasure.

  • one mans trash is another mans million dollars

  • i bet the person who threw that away is punching themself in the face right now

  • @nyjeen2 More like a trigger being pulled I would imagine.

  • Fake.

  • Hello shatros, it is all explained in the expanded write-up to the left. I was also confused. The story itself does not give all the facts - it is not a real news story, it is a clever comment about "one man's trash" - i guess? I don't know what this is exactly - but the write-up is quite thorough. I found an article about the sale - it was just over i mil. i guess.

  • I am confused. in this video they say it was stolen but later say it will be auctioned. I don't understand why it is not being returned to it's owner who would, I imagine, be grateful to have it back.

  • Magnum.....AMEN!!!!!

  • I could put a paint brush in my ass cheeks and paint something better than that. The shit people find valuable baffles me.

  • Try it.

    See what you make.

    Become rich.

  • yeah but the point is that he did it before u

  • @magnumshifter

Sure you could, but you wouldn't get someone to pay a lot of money for it. People don't understand that the "art" by itself is not worth the money - its the story of the piece, its "provenance" and the significance of the artist. Just because a painting looks simple or a mess has no relevance to what its worth.

If I had a painting that was just a bunch of shades of blue, I would be a multi-millionaire if it was by a dead chap called Rothko.
