The truth is that our uniquely self-regulating American judiciary is, for the most part, bought and paid for. When the moral fabric of our nation's court becomes this frayed, America has gone too far down the tubes to qualify for anything other than a cesspool of corruption. This is the new tone of the courts It is seriouslly dangerous to ignore this and look the other way.
My thanks and appreciation go out to both this reporter and Common Cause. Keep up the good work.
The US AG & CA AG must investigate this bribery & conspiracy & drag them KochHeads all into CA SupremeCourt or SF AppelateCourt for questioning depositions (4discovery or inquest) as reported by Rachel. If it was an organized corporateMafia meeting they would call it a conspiracy to commit a crime... ; D
~~> TELL THE TRUTH TO SHAME THE DEVIL... So much for the Freedom & Justice for all folks... This is what the right wing has to offer... A bunch of crooks & cronnies... Thanks for dropping the gavel on these POS profiteers...
I'll have to try that "brief drop-by" logic at the bar. Can I have a "brief kiss-by". If she says "yes", then I'll let her know that means anal sex, facial ejaculation, and she cooks me breakfast. Should work out great.
The Republicans are corrupt through and through. Some Democrats have joined them. The pressure to join is enormous. Elected officials are treated like royalty by the lobbyists. The lobbyists are pleasant people and they have convincing arguments. Then there's the pressure from fellow congressmen who have already been bought, encouraging you to join the club. Then there's your constituents, looking for something immediate, rather than long term...and you start to give in...little by little.
Are these conservatives just so arrogant in their power that they think no one can touch them? Or are they just so clueless as to actually believe no one will notice their blatant corruption?
@MarmaladeINFP - I think it's more about the lack of consequences that result in their actions. They know that while there might be a temporary shitstorm, in the end, nobody will be held accountable.
For example, if I know for a fact that I can rob a bank, although for a short time the patrons of the bank are angry at me for stealing their money, but the police and law enforcement don't care, then the bank is going to get robbed. The solution to this is the patrons start protecting their cash.
@FixedNewsChannel I'm sure you're right. There probably won't be consequences. So, why are those with power rarely if ever held accountable for abuse of their power? I understand that politicians are reluctant to hold accountable other politicians because they are all complicit in the same system of power. But why does the MSM usually let corruption slide or only mention it briefly? Where is the investigative journalism? Why isn't this on every news show? Because corporations own the MSM?
@MarmaladeINFP - Because Fox News isn't going to touch a right-winger, CNN is about as pro-corporate (whilst masquerading as centrism) as you can get and the other, sort of 'hard news' folks don't like touching stuff like this, because it makes them appear to be making the news, rather than reporting it, which I think is a bullshit, weak-sauce cop-out for flimsy-spined.
@FixedNewsChannel It's even simpler than that. 10% of the population own & controls 85% of the wealth. From within that very small sector of the population comes the owners & operators of FOX, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, etc, etc, etc; and the owners of Exxon/Moble, Walmart, Coca Cola, etc, etc; and the operators of the fixed markets & other ponzi schemes; and the member of congress & supreme court, etc . . . they're the spider & web . . . the other 90% of us are the stuff that gets caught in the web.
This is specificcally why"they" want to "control" the internet.

This stinks so bad. I`m sure Beck and O`Reilly will stand up for the "folks" on this one!
Oh wait, it`s the Koch brothers, not George Soros.

But in matters of the Supreme Court's decision for Citizens United, nothing can be done retroactively?
Could this lead to impeachment?

NOW can we impeach these criminals Thomas and Scalia who gave the country to the rich?

Thomas isn't really at fault. Thomas and Scalia share a brain. If Scalia is corrupt, Thomas really can't help it.
