he slid right up on some mud before he noticed the alligators, and then thought "oh shit, i better get off the mud". Was the bumping sound the gators bumping into the bottom of the kayak or what? I know the best course of action is to just keep your cool and calmly paddle as quickly as possible in a straight line to perceived safety, but if they attack, will a paddle smack on the nose do any good?
@WorldWideDiscussions I'd be really really careful with your dog around the water in FL i've lived here my whole life, and i see it in the paper, and i know people who have lost dogs to gators, but usually when they're swimming in the water, idk about if the dogs in the kayak, but theres some big gators here so i wouldn't chance it.
im a wildlife rehaber and i go there a lot. i've been chased by wild pigs and snapped at by alligators. gone hiking far out and i;ve seen deer, theres so much there. i;ve also seen otters.etc. i could go on for years.
Actually it's not a stupid idea at all....and yes i mean kill them! I'm a wildlife bioloogist and this would benefit them in the long run...think about it! 1. their competeing for food 2. their inbreeding 3. that many gators = danger so shut up numbnuts!

@glwithlife I found a safe place to kayak! Not kayaking in random lakes :) I am starting off with no dogs swimming though

"Harvest some of those alligators"? You mean kill some of those animals in their natural habitat?? Thats a very stupid idea.
