Anyone who is asking how the XK sounds, as compared to a Nord or any other keyboard for that matter, is probably not a HAMMOND PLAYER. If you came up in your career playing a B-3, than only an XK3c will do as a substitute to a B3. On the other hand, if you want "acceptable" organ sounds that come close to a Hammond, the Nord is fine.... BUT you will not experience the "Hammond interface" (and frankly, you probably don't need to) because you're just looking for good organ sounds, right??
I heard that the Hammond Xh-272 was hammonds flagship instruement and it can sound better and closer to the original B-3 than the New Hammond B-3. whats is your take on this and would you buy one considering that it is better than the Hammond B-3.
Well, if I had the money I would just buy a real Hammond B3 and Leslie or the rest of the XK3C. I don't need all that the Xh-272 has to offer and I use the XK3C because its so portable. I researched it and read it uses the older sample technology. Its all how you hear it though and its all about what floats your boat : )
They just have updated the page, but it uses the VASE III toneorgan technology. IF you need pportablility, then you can get the smaller model called the XE-1 or CMS-100 series. These organ are the same as the all New Hammond Xh-272 but have the option to add on like the XK3c
They are volume controls/ on and off switches for midi. I personally use the xk3c to control my synth on top and the knobs control the volume. I have a preset for just piano. It is very convenient.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
its not a clone! its a Hammond. i would have this and the new B3 over a organ u have to oil and service every few years! this review is shit

@mum0003 The term "clonewheel" applies to any non electro-mechanical tone wheel organ. It is indeed a Hammond but the term still applies to it.

you can lock the preset keys while you are playing so you dont accidently hit them.
and the tone button works in conjuction with the tone knob like an EQ by pressing
tone button toggles between bass mid and treble
