Third, it is completely plausible that refs, that have to watch a lot of things, confused him shading his eyes and making a fair catch signal.
Fourth, reverse the field for this punt and the receiver never would have shaded his eyes,
Somewhere in the rules it states that you cannot hit the receiver until he has caught the ball, dropped the ball (fumble), or it has hit the ground (and then you can block him from getting to it).
But as long as the ball is in the air the receiver cannot be touched.

Well there was a fair catch called on the play. If you watched the game, he motioned his hand in a wheel (One of the many ways to call a fair catch). Two, he did not have the ball in his possession yet, when he hit him, the ball was still in the air. As I recall, you can't even touch the punt returner until they have ball. Three, right after the hit, he went over and taunted the other team. Now that he had taunted them, the officials have probable cause to eject him.

First, the receiver was shading his eyes, not calling for a fair catch. Second, once the receiver found the ball out of the sun he was way too far back and had to run into the teeth of the coverage. Third, it is completely plausible that refs, that have to watch a lot of things, confused him shading his eyes and making a fair catch signal.
Fourth, reverse the field for this punt and the receiver never would have shaded his eyes,
I hope the receiver & the refs learned some

Somewhere in the rules it states that you cannot hit the receiver until he has caught the ball, dropped the ball (fumble), or it has hit the ground (and then you can block him from getting to it).
But as long as the ball is in the air the receiver cannot be touched.

@MrWhiteout221 I'm an Arkansas fan who has been going to games since the Great Shootout in 1969. Wade deserved to get ejected, and he deserved his suspension. He may have thought Krause had the ball, but that doesn't justify lowering his helmet on the hit or taunting afterwards. What's more, I'm glad we beat Vanderbilt, but Arkansas did not "wop" ANYONE's ass. We were lucky to leave Nashville with a W and not a double-digit loss. Now shut up, punk.

Players violate the halo rule all the time in football they try to time the hit but he had to see the fair catch signal and he led with his helment....it would have been bad if he had broken his neck with a cheap shot....I hope the coach sits him a game to learn him the real sportmanship of football.

No that punk got exactly what he deserved getting ejected. There is a 2 yard buffer rule in which you have to let the punt returner at least catch the ball before you can hit him to protect that from happening. I hope he gets sat the next game to from the sec.

Well there was a fair catch called on the play. If you watched the game, he motioned his hand in a wheel (One of the many ways to call a fair catch). Two, he did not have the ball in his possession yet, when he hit him, the ball was still in the air. As I recall, you can't even touch the punt returner until they have ball. Three, right after the hit, he went over and taunted the other team. Now that he had taunted them, the officials have probable cause to eject him.

As bad a hit (spear) as that was the receiver did make the most vague, ambiguous, near-invisible fair catch sign I'v ever seen. He was busy shielding his eyes and wagged his off hand at the ground a little and didn't see the defender at all. I still think the shot was punishable, but a couple of things added up to make it a bad hit.

Kick this punk off the team! The fair catch signal may have been hard to see but that DOESN'T MATTER because you still CAN'T HIT THE RECEIVER UNTIL HE HAS THE BALL! If that happened in the NFL it'd be a whopping fine, the least he should get is suspended for the rest of the season. Piece of crap.
