hi thank you for this tutorial. Could you please tell me how can i reset the 61 cartrudge chip, because after refilling my ink level is still low. I colud not find those pins you said i need to cover by tape. thank you in advance bro
I recently purchased 2 ink catridges for my HP Deskjet F2280 printer, but now the Color & Black/Photo lights keep coming up & there is a big 'E' in the display window. Can anyone help me? I have tried everything from removing the catridges to turning it off & switching it back on, but still no go.

I refilled my black HP 21 cartridge for my HP Deskjet 3940, but it insists on reporting the cartridge as empty and will only print blank pages. Any advice?
@stripedhyenuh probably stopped up, Tip if your printer cartridges quit working, before or after a refill. You can boil a pot of water on the stove, and pour a little in a junk bowl, and set your cartidges in the hot water, maybe pour in some rubbing alcohol, let set a few minutes, repeat with more hot water, boiling water now, it want hurt the cartridges. now it should work. This will unstop the tiny nosels in the print cartridge head.
k so can i use any ink to refill this? Like I got 3 different printers. a HP, a Brother and a Lexmark. So I plan on getting the Brother Refill Kit, so will the ink work with my HP printer and lexmark. P.S My Lexmark uses 100xl cartidges so its not meant to be refilled, but there sponge is exposed on the bottem so i plan on inject the ink through that hole
The trick is to "top off" the cartridges each week rather than refilling them when they become empty. Otherwise, fill them as soon as you get a message that the ink is running low. Topping-off avoids the problems of refilling and extends the life of the cartridge.
Refilling is the way to go. Its cheaper.

This is a very simplistic video which does not go into the methods these printer manufacturers use to prevent refilling.

Thanks for warning me, but I already tried it and it bubbled up and leaked all over my desk. It's a good thing I didn't put it in my printer.
