Original wheels are a must, for those who are interested there are many different types but this car for gravel it used Cromodora rims, and compomotive have built a special replica available from a company called Group 4 Wheels in the uk,i have also been looking for the tarmac rally split rim with no sucess so far
Its not exactly a replica or imitation. The guy has dressed it up with the Alitalia livery but thrown in the Australian sense of humor by putting Australia there instead.
Im almost sure that when the fiat 131 went out of production lada bought the rights to it and started building inferior versions but unlike fiats they were poorly constructed and badly put together and none of them had aberth engines...
After watching Group B videos all day, this thing looks slow! I know it's not really; a Lancia Delta S4 makes just aboiut anything look slow. Nice looking car though; doesn't really look Italian though.
True, it does look like an Escort, only a bit more angular. I still like the Escort better though. Escorts rule! (British Escorts, anyway....screw American crap)
"1.8cc"!? Wow! That must have GREAT fuel economy! LOL. Funny to hear someone call a Fiat "massive", but then again, I'm from America, land of conspicous consumption.
It comes quite quickly to find yourself "at home" behind the steering wheel of this car, and after that it is the car of your life.
For fifteen years I have driven Fiat 131. Have tried to get rid of it once or two, but always I get back to it. It just handles so great and has great engine and powertrain.

My father had it and it was one of the first 76' year models! All silver with black interior and 1.8cc engine! Massive car as I can remember!
I am looking to buy one now, so do you know if I can find one?
