One of the all time great albums for me.
One of the premier song writers of the century.
And the so under credited Mick Avery!

Could really see Wilco doing a nice cover of this song....for some reason.

Came here to see if it held any relevance to another song. Must say that the song itself is ok in my opinion, but the message makes up for it.
And for those that wonder, the song that made me curious was a long way from Equestria.

John Lennon and Ray Davies are the 2 finest songwriters to ever come along. Feel so blessed to have grown up with their music!

I bought this album when I was twenty years old. I loved this song and This Time Tomorrow.

This song was a comment by Ray on Dave's putting on airs once the Kinks reached stardom. He thought Dave was now "A Long Way From Home".

No wonder they got along so badly! Ray joins DAVE's band and then takes over and gets more credit. And he adds insult to unjury by writing unflattering songs about Dave, like this one. "Dandy"and "A Dedicated Follower of Fashion" are about Dave too.
