shit dude do what you want. i got my first stang at 14('69 coupe w/351w and 4bbl). it might of been a little much for me at the time but i grew into it. then i got another one this past year ('03 coupe v6) for a daily driver. now im working on buying a newer one as well. my bro did however have a fast as fuck '67 coupe he sold it and tells me he regrets it everyday. no joke. but do what you want and a little muscle never hurt anyone. watch for coppers though i learned that the hard way.
