@clothearednincompoop Yeah, which ultimately ruins everything as pianos are instruments that are extremely dynamic in play with their velocity. Much like any instrument I guess.
I'm not so keen on this piano vst but it's good for ballad music. But I personally prefer a piano VST called Baby Jazz, I think it's by Safwan Matni and DSK akoustic keys. But I'm more use to my Yamaha PSR-295 and Yamaha PSS-790 piano sounds.
Pianissimo unfortunately such too, when you hit keys HARD you can hear that there is kind of limiter that you cant switch off. Also it STRATCHES each implemented sample for 3-4 notes to make a melody...
hmm.. when i say pure i mean general midi. (GM) If you don't know what midi is it's a integrated sound interface with very low variety of samples. you can get theese so called vsti plugins that improves theese sounds with a lot better samples for every note but this is not one of them ..but i guess you can't expect more from a free app. there is some out there that really costs a lot of money like Ivory for instance. I think there is about 40 gigs (That's just insane!!) of high quality samples.
I just tried it and I have to disagree. It has the same silly elementary mistake that some other free piano VSTs have too: It does not behave like a piano behaves!!!
It's like these VSTs are created by people who can't play piano even the tiniest bit.
I mean: strike down a key. Fine - the sound plays. Release the key: the sound is cut instantly. This is totally unnatural and renders the VST completely useless.
It does sound good with the sustain pedal however.
This thing had potential but like with most free pianos......it has NO velocities making it VERY limiting for a true piano player.
Try 'Yannleo Accentor' instead. Its FAR superior than Balthor and has 5 velocity layers. Its not perfect and limited for quiet playing, but great sounding for everthing else!
This is a joke for the price. Unless its free? And where on earth is the reverse delay coming from ?

Sounds totally fake.

The biggest problem with Balthor is that it isn't velocity sensitive.

Try Hauptwerk software. There are several wonderful Steinways as well as very realistic (sampled) harpsichords and pipe organs.

I did write this piano with velocity but I never submitted it.(Balthor)

LOL, Hi Balthor.
Well, you really should have submitted the velocity version IMHO.
The core piano sound is here, but its VERY flat and pingy. Velocities may have helped.
Cheers.
