  • what a waist of time

  • You said to torque tha valve cover, but i didn't see you using a torque wrench and you didnt spicify how much ft/lbs or inch/lbs.

  • What the hell does a valve cover have to do with a blown head gasket?

  • you must be kidding me man !! O.O

  • Last time I checked thats a valve cover gasket not a head gasket, big difference SMH

  • dear nathan thank you for such an imformative video, i torqued everything down with a speed handle like you said and my alcohol drag boat runs wonderfully sincerely winthrop q wyotech

  • this guy is an idiot it take about 4hours just to fix the car

  • Expert Village should be banned from youtube.

  • lol he graduated college with a 3.5 gpa... more like a 2.5, they must have had a typo

  • Wow, thank you for learning me how to tighten bolts (the wrong way)! This is the worst crap ever seen...

  • is a car worth buyin if it has a broken timing belt even if the car body is in good shape and the person only wants $100 for it let me now thx

  • @unboxingguru1 a timing belt requires the hole engine to be taken out of the car. It really depends on the car and what its worth when it does run. Replacing a timing belt can easily run up to $1500

  • @unboxingguru1 Depends on the car, not all cars require the engine be removed, sometimes it can only cost a few hundred dollars.

  • @unboxingguru1 Even if the car is crapped out its worth more than that for scrap metal...

  • I'd sooner have rough anal sex with Hlilary Clinton than use the expertvillage videos to help fix my car.

  • expert vilages a fag.

  • @Damroughneck ahah well put

  • this is Bullshit, and so boring!

  • @Damroughneck if you guys are so dope, do it yourself. You ever heard of moral relativism. You would be way to pussy to say that shit to this guys face. Punks. Bet your still livin w/ mommy.

  • @robbythatchet09

Are you trolling or really angry?

Honestly, I haven't seen anyone nerd rage about a funny comment (which is partially true) like this before.

  • I hate this mother fucker. I want to pull that cover of and beat him to death with it

  • @ava2nd Congratulations!!! Now you can RULE THE AUTOMOTIVE WORLD with this new KNOWLEDGE! Think about all those poor Mechanics out there with there dam Arthritis who cant tighten bolts anymore. If they only had somebody who knew how to tighten bolts in a Star Pattern....IF ONLY.......LOL

  • Cant see a DAMN THING!!!! the text is covering it

  • @Damroughneck That is hilarious!!

  • what the heck !!?!! this supposed to be named : How to piss you off !!

  • Use a torque wrench you idiot!!!!

  • wow so thats how you replace a head gasket?? delete this video bitch. you just pissed me off!

  • Doesn't head gasket cover bolts have a specific torque value?? Cause hand tight seems like a load of bs... the pattern thing is understandable, but hand tight is a relative term. Can anyone answer this??

  • Wow this is so easy my grandma could do it, tommorow im going to drop off my e350 so my granny can change my head gasket, Tools needed bended wrench an tell her to aim for stars yay.

    FAGS

  • label it man .... hard to follow the steps because each video is not labeled

  • Video is titled "how to replace had gasket", not how to properly torque things in the correct manner. The reality, is that while a head gasket is a $30 part, to replace it, means taking the fuel rail out, taking the top of the engine off, and flushing the radiator. there's a ton of work to get the engine apart, and moving things out of the way, before we even get to the head gasket. This video is misleading in terms of title vs content

  • Use a fucking torque wrench Nate you fucking idiot

  • @Damroughneck hhahahahhahahhhhahahahahahahahhahaahahhaahahahhahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaahahhhahahahahahahhahahahahahahaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahaha

  • @Damroughneck hahaha

  • how much do dey cost

  • ahhh dumb fuck the video title says how to replace a head gasket on torque a valve cover. Village Idiots strike again!

  • Good, let's get fun for sunday.

  • I guess there are all sorts of ways to change a head gasket....lol

  • @Damroughneck This made my day haha

  • scotty kilmer, richpin and david are the best to watch

  • @hp11208 Scotty Kilmer is a fucking idiot no different that dip shit village.

  • Im Nick and im hungover. Lets bolt this down so i can drink some more

  • if you do not know this information already then you shouldnt even be THINKING about getting anywhere near a car. let alone an engine.....i mean come on....

  • thiz gye he cannot tell u something like follow the x patter nd ull be allright hell no check the manufacture specs there differents ways nnot like an x lol

  • dats fkn retarded all d fkn retard did was loosen the rocker cover bolts wat a handicaped vid

  • You sound mentally handicapped. Learn how to spell, you moron.

  • you must be mentally reaterded if you think thats how you change a head gasket haha what a fuken retard you shouldnt be left near a car fuken douche bag haha

  • This video is part of a sequence of videos on how to replace a head gasket. This is part of the reassembly AFTER the head gasket has been assembled. My god, you are stupid!.

  • fuk you are retarded calling it that name tricking everyone into thinking that it is something it isnt what a fag!!!!

  • I didn't post this video, you imbecile. I'm just watching it like you.

Did your mother drop you on your head when you were a baby?

  • Comment removed

  • This is part of a sequence of videos. This video is part of the reassembly. You're the dumbass.

  • no that is not the proper way Idiot

  • And another one, this did absolutely nothing how how to replace a head gasket. you showed how to tighten fucking bolts. thanks my 2 year old nephew can do that part

  • thats why they make fucking torque wrenches

  • Where the hell is this guys torque wrench? He's just guessing the foot pounds those bolts are at. I bet as soon as they cranked that engine up anitfreez and oil were shooting everywhere

  • use a digital torque wrench!

  • Oh yeah Now I know everything I need to know about how to replace a headgasket. Thanks expert village. I just tried the shit and got stuck. You all blow polar bear balls.

  • lmao!

  • The upper valve covers on my Acuras only have two bolts on them.. lol

  • i didnt learn how to change !!! he did everything then he record himself puttin it back together? i mean scroowin it back wtf

  • How to change out a head gasket:..ok now im tightening down the bolts that hold the horn on the handle bars of my Bicycle...you kinda wanna tighten them in a pattern, like a top then bottom pattern, start with the top tighten it down about...hand tight, then make your way to the bottom one, also hand tight..make sure you start them by hand first. And thats it for changing out a head gasket, im Donoshit and this is ExpertVillage...ppppsssh

  • was i suppose to learn something from this very short video?

  • yea that the expertvillageidiots munch ass

  • Ah...nothing like the proper way.

  • the thing is, you fucken asshole, that you think you know how to do it, there are different ways how to work. It doesn't make any difference since you you're tightining from the middle and then keep moving outwards.

  • Holy shit.

I just told you what i was getting at.

    Mate, grow osme fuckin' nuts.

I bet you drive a Honda or a Suby, cock.

  • hey...aint nothing wrong with suby's...best car in my state.

  • A star patern, you loser, you didnt do no star patern.

  • don't say anything you loser before you know, this is good as much as the 'star pattern'

  • i dont get it? what just happened LOL

  • ummm what the hell

  • WTF? use the proper tools.

  • I'm guessing you're talking about how he's using a box pattern instead of the star pattern hes mentioning

  • that and maybe because the title says head gasket

  • lol whats hes doing wrong tell me?

  • I don´t get the point too. Ok, he´s not using a torque-wrench, but this is not needed there; at least the valve cover belts need 15-20nm and that can be done by hand easily. Hand-tight is the word. And they are tighten up crosswise, which is correct too.

  • For gods sake he went to nashville auto diesel college give him a break!!LOL

  • get this guy a new tool kit

  • wow that looks like its hard work

  • your just a fucking wanker hahaha who gives a fuck just dont brake the bolt

  • Surly a torque wrench should be used and not rely on a worn out clicky elbow !!

  • note to self socket wrench

  • I hate expertvillage

  • me too

  • Dude, the f*cking noise you make with your mouth every time you say something is pretty.

  • i thought head gaskets where the thin metal seals ?

  • they are usually rubber, but can be made of cork.. metal doesnt seal well lol

  • head gaskets are not rubber or cork, thats valve cover gasket

  • They come in all different kinda rubber cork but actually most of them are metal but have plastic or rubber over it

  • You're right Dude, they are. However, in this horribly mislabeled series of videos by lipsmacker extraordinaire Nate McCollough, you will never actually ever see a head gasket.

I'm sorry I had to be the one to tell you this. There are many other informative videos on YouTube. Please skip this one.

  • A torque measuring wrench is an absolute must and the necessary specifications. Everything else is engine hara-kiri.

  • i thought you was going to show us how to change a head gasket

  • Be Cafeful on the torque, we have accidentally overtorqued an aluminum valve cover and didn't notice the big crack caused by the over tightening until the smoke screen was billowing out of the hood and bottom of the car going down the road.

  • I did this yesterday on a sump - use a torque measuring wrench - not as Nate advises. I wouldn't do this if the engine is warm either.

  • (BTW I'm talking about when the sump is warm, not the valve cover :) )

  • oh another video for yanks

  • The bloke in this looks like he wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire! He always looks stoned and pissed off.

  • I just hate how every video is 1-2min....... just make the whole head gasket change 1 video, I hate having to figure out whats next and shit, so annoying.

  • at least they should put numbers for the video .

  • Yeah. How could they be so dumb?

  • this is just valve cover gasket replacement. the head gasket is between the head and crank.

  • huh?? the head gasket is between the head and block.

  • Is not there an specific amount of torque to be applied in NM(newton meters)?

  • you need auto data for all technical data

  • typically valve cover torque doesn't matter. Just put it down tight

  • Yeah, and then tighten it up a bit more when it's warm. Just do it enough so it stops leaking oil, and watch you don't strip the thread.

  • And they are so boring....

  • agree with soob4me

    nothing to do with gaskets

  • unless you count the valve cover gasket which needs to be propperly sealed to stop the engine from leaking oil all over the exhaust manifold and filling the car with smoke

  • That has NOTHING to do with the headgaskets. Is that a Dodge by the way?

  • Looks like the standard Mazda (626 or Mx6 type mid 1990's) engine in this video.

  • Think it's a Ford Probe - I'm pretty sure they use a Mazda engine.

  • thanks.
