  • Boring

  • SENATOR SANDERS. PLEASE MAKE "BRIAN" OF THE HENDERSON NV SS OFFICE COME IN FRONT OF A CONGRESSIONAL INVESTIGATION TO ASK HIM WHY HE IS CUTTING SENIORS OVER 65 OF SSI BENEFITS AND FORCING THEM TO GIVE UP MEDICARE PART B. I THINK THEY ARE COMMITTING A CRIME AGAINST SENIORS IN THAT OFFICE.

  • SENATOR SANDERS. IF SSI IS SUPPOSED TO BRING A SENIOR OVER 65 UP TO THE POVERTY LEVEL OF $1100 A MO HOW COME I DONT GET MORE THAN 700 OR SO IN NEVADA>?

  • SENATOR SANDERS. NEVADA CUT MY SSI FROM 331 A MO TO 200. THEY MADE ME GIVE UP MEDICARE PART B. ALL BECAUSE I MOVED FROM CALIF TO NV. NV IS NUTS

  • SENATOR SANDERS. TELL NEVADA TO STOP CUTTING SSI AND MEDICARE PART B FROM SENIORS WHO MOVED INTO NEVADA FROM CALIF.

  • TELL THEM TO STOP CUTTING SSI BENEFITS TO SENIORS OVER 65 JUST BECAUSE THEY MOVED TO ANOTHER STATE

  • I am a young person that will get no SS when I become of age, but I will still be paying for the SS retirees that are living today!!

DO you think that is screwed up??

If I had it my way, I would want nothing to do with SS!!!

  • @RRbattlefield You would rather the streets be filled with homeless seniors begging for spare change and sleeping in gutters?

  • @RRbattlefield You have _got to be the dumbest person alive. When you have money in your wallet do you say "I will never be able to use this money and want nothing to do with it?" then say "I sure want someone to steal this money and use it to give to people richer than me". That is EXACTLY what you are saying. Anyone telling you SS will not be there just wants in your wallet. It's YOUR money. Fight for it you fool!

  • @RRbattlefield WRITE A LETTER TO SS AND TELL THEM YOU WANT TO OPT OUT. BUT DONT ASK ANYONE FOR HELP 50 YRS FROM NOW WHEN WALL STREET HAS CRASHED, BANKS ARE GONE AND YOU ARE HOMELESS AND BROKE. WHEN SANDERS HAS THE CAP REMOVED FROM SS IT WILL BE GOOD FOR OVER 75 YEARS.

  • ~~^~^^~^Americans should know the differEnce between voter fraud and ELECTION FRAUD. Voter fraud is non-existent. ELECTION FRAUD DOES EXIST. REPUBLICANS have a reputation for using DIEBOLD ELECTRONIC voting machines to commit ELECTION FRAUD. CALLyour congressperson & SENATOR & DEMAND the ELIMINATION of ELECTRONIC VOTING MACHINES & that we switch to a VERIFIABLE PAPER VOTING METHOD. ~~^~^~^To win in 2012 REPUBLICANS will NOT hesitate to use ELECTION FRAUD AGAIN.

  • I only get 218 a month disability as it is for bieng epileptic and it bearly gets my meds. Fully capable of working but people wont hire me. Pretty sad when they could take it from politicians or some of the other stuff it goes to.

  • @lit421 i have been paying into it for over 33 years, and now they want to try and cut in to it, this is BS all i have to say is when i need it later on it better be there for me, if not we are going to have a big problem.

  • @weldean46 GUESS WHAT THEY HAVE CUT INTO MY SSI SAYING I MOVED FROM ONE STATE TO THE OTHER AND MADE ME SIGN AWAY MY MEDICARE PART B OR PAY FOR IT AS IT WAS FREE IN CALIF.

THEY PLAY PHILBIN WITH THE SYSTEM AND NEED TO BE HORSEWHIPPED

  • i fiqure the us government owes me 20000 dollars if they cut ss.

  • Please Mr Sanders. Come to Minnesota. Just for 1 speech. People here feel the way that you do. We may be the "vermont" of the midwest or so. Gets pretty tough to during the MN winters to heat houses ya know. Believe me, the people are on your side. You are the reason that i maintain some hope for this country. Please, keep trying to get your message out there to people. We believe in your vision of the country, and we believe in you as a person. I wish you the best.

  • I'm not gay, but I'd marry him. Dude know what's up. Fist bump (hopefully no other fisting XD)

  • ty

  • Where is he from I want to move there.

  • @ibelontojesus2 Vermont :)

  • I personally think because of the stress we should get a raise in social security!

  • Bernie Sanders is the best! He would make an excellent president!! Sanders is awesome, we must take the bush tax cuts away and there the debt is fixed!

  • hmmm they cut social security they best take it off my check......and might as well take off medicare too. not to mention my child support since ill have to take care of my mother.

  • Obama has been a "major sellout" to his base that put him into office. Not only not getting us out of the wars he promised, but Social Security and Medicare will also be sold out to the highest bidder.

Join the anitwar/antiestablishment protest taking place in DC on Oct 6th 2011 as this will be massive and historic. We the people will take our country back from the corporate & military machine.

    Go to-october 2011.org

  • This man should be president!

  • @biggerturtle Can't tell if you're trolling or just stupid.

  • @biggerturtle How cute. It thinks it's worth my attention.

  • @biggerturtle Eh....then you go the way of what Eisenhower said would happen to those who wanted to end Social Security :)

  • @xDraconianKingx What a moronic statement. I hope all your freeloading off the rest of us through government subsidies stops and you get no more free money IDIOT

  • I wish Bernie Sanders would run for President in 2012. We love Bernie Sanders !!!

  • Bernie Sanders has some big brass balls

  • Just why the hell is Bernie Sanders not running for President? I'd campaign for him! :D

  • @xDraconianKingx Sanders for President ! Yes ! How can we get him to run in 2012 ?

  • @p71280 Didn't they have a "Draft Ron Paul for President in 2012"? Let's do the same for Bernie. Texas may not vote for him, but hey, I'd rather see Bernie as President and use the bully pulpit to his advantage! :D

  • @xDraconianKingx I agree, a grassroots efforts may convince Bernie Sanders to run in the 2012 race, we need to organize. Does anyone have a facebook page for "Bernie Sanders for President - 2011"? How about 100,000 on facebook for Bernie?

  • @p71280 I think that would work really.

  • @xDraconianKingx Where do you think would be a good place to start? Facebook?

  • @p71280 Facebook, schools, etc. etc.

  • God bless Bernie Sanders.

  • Thank you thank you Senator Sanders...it seems you're the only friend the common people have these days.

  • Thank you for posting. When I first heard the President's comments today about the checks not going out, I was frightened!! You gave me reassurance.

  • @robertadiskin NO CHECKS GET A LIFE YOU LAZY SCUMBAG

  • i love this guy. he speak the true.

  • I find it odd that people claim that by continuing a program that has been in existence for 75 years, we will be "living in a communist country." Are they implying that unbeknownst to the rest of us, we have been living in a communist country for all that time?

If so, could they explain how a marxist country has an upper class that has the lowest taxes since the 1920's, and has dramatically increased in wealth while that of everyone else has remained stagnant or declined?

  • @gnuwave Its not odd at all. There are some people that want it all...they don't even want the weak, the sick, the aged to have a few crumbs. They want them to just crawl away into the bush and die of sickness and starvation. There are rich people like this and they are like evil Nazis.

  • NO TAX INCREASES. NO RAISING THE DEBT CEILING. NO MORE HEGELIAN-DIALECTIC GAMES.

  • I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN COMMUNIST COUNTRY MR SANDERS. I DON'T WANT MY CHILDREN TO LIVE IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY. NO MORE TAKING MONEY BY COERCION TO FUND HEGELIAN-DIALECTIC GAMES.

  • @mn8aol are you 8 years old mr mn8aol?

  • Social Security is a ponzi scheme and is one of the biggest scams that the government has ever pushed on the american people.

  • @jjenson2006 He's a socialist and doesn't know a thing about economics. There aren't any economists that I know of that would agree with him on social security.

  • I DON'T WANT TO LIVE IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY, MR. SANDERS. I DON'T WANT MY CHILDREN TO LIVE IN A COMMUNIST COUNTRY. NO MORE HEGELIAN-DIALECTIC GAMES.

  • @mn8aol

Here you are, living in a country where the wealth and power disparities are commensurate with any disparity evidenced by Leninist and post-Leninist analysis, and your major problem is over terminology. Terminology. You can rot and fester under Capitalism in the same way you can rot and fester under Communism. The title you give your death doesn't change its circumstance. And your only reply to your children can be, ultimately, "at least we weren't Communists." What a joke.

  • @dmiller185 -- THE LAST TIME I CHECKED, I LIVED IN A CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC THAT HOLDS THAT MEN ARE ENDOWED WITH CERTAIN RIGHTS THAT ARE INALIENABLE OR INSEPARABLE FROM GOD. THOSE BRIEFLY STATED PRINCIPLES ARE A LONG A WAY AWAY FROM THE 'ROT AND FESTER" MARXIST WORLDVIEW STINK OF YOURS, WHERE THERE ARE NO INDIVIDUALS, ONLY AMOEBAS.

  • @mn8aol

First, the Constitution, the legal framework upon which the Republic is founded, proffers nothing about unalienable rights. They don't exist excepting in Philosophy and the Declaration of Independence. Second, there is nothing about life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that is excluded from a Marxist worldview, which you clearly don't know much about except that it's necessarily bad.

  • @dmiller185 - YOU DON"T KNOW MUCH ABOUT MARXISM.

  • @dmiller185 -- SERIOUSLY, YOU ACT LIKE YOU ARE INTELLIGENT BECAUSE SOME MARXIST PROFESSOR MAKING $180,000 A YEAR, OR MR. SANDERS HERE WITH HIS 6 FIGURE SALARY PLUS PENSION, TOLD YOU THERE ARE WEALTH AND POWER DISPARITIES?

  • @mn8aol First, please stop yelling. Second, look at the statistics, capitalism can be a good thing, as long as it's regulated and kept in check. It's not capitalism that hurts us, it's selfish greed among a select few who virtually write legislation to ensure they never fall from 'wealthy status', regardless of the risks taken. Third, your language is incredibly loaded. Sounds like you have A LOT of preconceived notions about a lot of things. You should work on that. Fourth, you're a douche.....

  • Comment removed

  • @caucasianjake -- YOU NEED TO SHOW SOME TOLERANCE FOR CAPITAL LETTERS.

  • Comment removed

  • @mn8aol

Yet, wealth and power disparities do exist. And they're growing, leaving you - the voter - with ever decreasing leverage in the political system. Not wanting to be Communist won't solve that. And your fear of its specter won't help you attend to the problems of this historical moment - the one in which you have to live and take responsibility for. Bondage doesn't care about labels, and your obsession with labels won't free you from oppressive dialectical forces.

  • @dmiller185 -- "BLACK IS BLACK AND WHITE IS WHITE. NEITHER TORTURE, MALTREATMENT NOR INTIMIDATION CAN CHANGE A FACT. TO ARGUE THE POINT..SERVES NO USEFUL PURPOSE." POW MAJOR DAVID F. MACGHEE RESPONDING TO BRAINWASHING BY KOREAN ARMY 1953.

  • @dmiller185 Spot on miller !!! Say it again and again. Never stop. Never give up.One day the brainwashed idiots will wake up but by then they will be in chains.

  • Man , Bernie Sanders is one of the good guys.

  • he should be criticizing his nutjob republican friends

  • @addikt2011 He does, watch the whole video next time, buddy.

  • When you give money to poor people, they spend every last dollar back to the business owners anyways, minus taxes. I fail to see how that's bad for corporations and rich people alike. They are the owners. Social assistance is basically just lending them the money, because within a few weeks the system will have it all back. Even most of the ones who are abusing the system will spend it all back. Who of them is stockpiling any meaningful amount of money??

  • Comment removed

  • Medicare should have cuts in costs, NOT benefits. The overcharging for prescription drugs by pharmaceutical companies for instance. Go generic, there's a way to cut costs. Why isn't the right yammering about that???

  • I listened to the conservative talk radio, here in Atlanta, briefly (it is unbearably stupid) & the claim being made was "govt takes from the rich & gives to the lazy... the people on welfare have no incentive to work because they're being given stolen money" -that is an important point to be addressed. The people getting help are actually suffering and actually need it in order to become productive; or they're old & deserve a break. We should have more basic philosophical discussions.

  • What the hell is up with Obama, we need someone that will fight for progressives.

  • Before cutting one cent from social security, perhaps Washington can figure a way to start taxing or charging the 140 some odd countries that are relying on our military to protect them. Not only should Washington be charging them for every cent we spend but should also consider a 30% profit margin which is only fair for business.

The American people have been hoping for change which makes things better for U.S. citizens. Unfortunately, We are not seeing change that is directly benefiting US!

  • @nvsyru so the countries, the US Away have so mercifully invaded should pay for your excessive military?Places where people are dying of femine should be paying for CEO's that earn billions a year? The problem of the industrialised world is not that we don't have enough, it's that it is unevenly distributed.

  • Social Security is social, but it's far from secure. If it were kept as a true trust it might be secure, but since it was lumped in with the rest of the budget it has never been secure. Bernie is an idiot if he thinks it's not part of the problem.

  • I'd vote for Sen. Sanders for president, but the Repubs would never go along with him either.

  • Audit The Fed

  • Obama is a war criminal.

Sounds like Bernie Sanders will cut his pay in half to help people

  • I listen to Bernie on Tom Hartman show and he always gets it right.

    We need more Bernie Sanders.

I will not vote for any politician that backs away for his or her campaign

promises, do you hear me Mr.President? Stick to your promises call their

    bluff.

  • @IthacaRecords Me too. I love, love, love Thom Hartmann. He is the most intelligent news commentator on the planet. He's not for everyone because he's factual, smart, and he's not entertaining. He's here for the intellectuals and he's NOT for anyone looking for media hype and clownish behavior.

  • @Denton9176 whoever posted this on the AboveTopSecret website is a FOOL. Social security is a freaking scheme. BERNIE SANDERS IS FREAKING COMMUNIST YOU IDIOT.

  • God bless you, Bernie Sanders!

  • This is what is looks like when you have a Senator working FOR the People, not against them. We the People folks-NOT We the Corporations.

  • Go Bernie!

  • this man is amazing...one of the FEW who actually CARES about the People!!!!!!!!! Thank u Bernie

  • bernie sanders needs to get this straight: I Will not donate to, I will not volunteer for, I Will not vote for ANY Senator who doesn't both fillibuster and vote against cutting social security cut, i will not do any of the above for any congressmen that doesn't vote against any bill that cuts social security and I Will not Vote for, volunteer for, or donate to any president that doesn't VETO any bill that cuts social security! EVEN IF THE GOVERNMENT GETS SHUT DOWN!

  • I have to say when I was young I never, NEVER, would have believed that the conservatives would have the unmitigated gall to try and privatize (basically destroy) SS and medicare. Apparently they do. I am sending a message to Sanders right now, thanking him for once again, telling it like it is.

  • You save the Budget by cutting all the waste on our endless, expensive wars of choice in foreign lands, not by stealing SS funds.

  • Thank you for standing up for the many people who are being terriorized by our own country now threatening to take away social security benefits and veterans. He has put people with heart conditions in a worst state. Now we have a war on the poor. I am so sick to my stomach no one will stand up to this human rights atrocity!

  • @informationuneed We have a war on the poor, the middle, and even some stupid wealthy classes !

  • If Mr. Sanders doesn't come up against shyster 'Bama in the primaries, this may finally drive me to move out of the country (how's that for a guilt trip? ;o)

Seriously, one or more non-Kochsuckers need to challenge shyster 'Bama. This one-term asshat needs to go work for Wall St. on THEIR nickel rather than on OURS like he's currently doing.

Sanders 2012. We would campaign tirelessly for you. It would be a cakewalk. Anyone with ears would vote for you.

  • @OrwellsDaughter This! There needs to be a Democratic challenger in the primary, much like how Bobby Kennedy and Eugene McCarthy challenged Lyndon Johnson and Ted Kennedy challenged Jimmy Carter. There are Democratic voters who want Obama out, but they feel compelled to vote for him anyway to avoid the election of a moron like Bachmann or some goon like Romney. Obama is the ultimate Wall St puppet and it is time to get him out.

  • Obama, watch your back, independents are VERY upset with you.

    GO SANDERS!

  • @ViraIVideos Yeah all 7 of them.

  • @justcallmeassinine lol the majority of american voters are non registered or independents.

  • @ViraIVideos If that were true then Sanders has a good chance of creating a 3rd party. Most Americans are ignorant and don't even know who he is.I wish you were correct.

  • @justcallmeassinine Well just because they're independent doesn't mean they don't vote for a major party.

Most get scared into voting for one of them, even if they don't affiliate themselves with them.

But yea it's a matter of fact, most Americans are independents, it's just they rarely vote 3rd party sadly.

  • @ViraIVideos Do you suppose that Americans will wake up someday and realize that their standard of living is quite lower than many of the top European economies ?It seems Americans only listen to good news and talk about their jobs and family but when things go wrong, they are ashamed and just hide it,don't think about it and repeat the same mistakes,You do not have affordable health insurance and it is tied to your job, If you are unemployed, you can lose all your savings and assets.

  • @justcallmeassinine I agree with everything written above in general. As for why it's that way, i have no idea.

Health insurance, at a very minimum, should be a right, but since it isn't we lose 5,000 fellow brothers and sisters each day. That's something Europe doesn't accept, and they have a zero mortality rate in the same exact area.

A lot can be learned from our overseas brethren.

  • @ViraIVideos It is very nice to hear from an American who thinks like you do. I believe there must be many more of you. Obama was elected in 2008 as a protest against giving it all to the super rich. But now he seems to be changing his colors and giving in to the global powers.I think Sanders is more articulate as to how the middle class is being bled into extinction.

  • @justcallmeassinine See the problem that we have here seems to be there are lobbyists for every congressman in power currently, but all of them represent big corporations that are Amoral and do not do the public any good and sometimes do the public harm.

So when it comes to deciding between the public and the oil companies or some other corporation, it seems we always lose out because no one lobbies on our behalf.

That and the effect of money in politics corrupts our two parties.

  • @ViraIVideos Yes I see,but then why does Mr. Sanders speak out on behalf of people who have nothing ? What's in it for him ? Is he simply a saint ? Hard to believe.

  • @justcallmeassinine In small states with small populations, and a well understood principles of citizenry and voting, states can be truly free when they understand their government.

Vermont, the state that is represented by Senator Sanders, is one of the smallest states in the U.S, and it's people are very well versed in Politics, compared to say Montana or Kentucky.

He would have a hard time being elected if he were in many other states. His voters simply hold him to account.

  • If Obama caves on this issue, he needs to be challenged for the Democratic nomination.

  • @EPRVa62 I swear I had the same exact thought about the same time you did.

  • Comment removed

  • Bernie, you and a few (Very few) of your colleagues get it. But you in particular should be ashamed of your self. We the middle class, who have lost so much, and continue to be prayed upon, and be picked apart like a dying animal in the street by the republican vultures and their corporate minions, we bleed jobs, homes, retirement, savings dwindle to pay for necessities, we have to tell our children "Forget the dream of college" and you still refuse to be our savior and run for OUR president.

  • When Obama talks about "entitlement reform" what he means is to cut it, privatize it, loot it any way he can to give it to his criminal controllers in Wall St.

  • May God always bless you Senator Sanders! Thank you for fighting for the people of this country, seems like your the only one doing so.

    Many Thanks to you.

  • God bless Mr. Sanders. It seems like he's the only politician who still cares about us.

  • Called out. As he should be. If Obama doesn't change his fucking tone soon, history will not be kind to him.

  • Bernie - PLEASE run for president!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you Bernie, I pray that your words will wake up your fellow congressmen/women, and they will do what they swore to do, serve the American public.

  • Would love to hear Bernie and Noam talk about this together.

  • His state is getting single payer healthcare yet he's still out there fighting for the rest of us. Tell-um how it is Bernie!

  • Way to go, Bernie. I hope Obama is listening. You are his Jiminy Cricket.

  • Bernie Sanders is the only statesman in the Senate. He is the only Senator who is always on the side of regular Americans

  • He makes me proud to live in Vermont. Seriously, we should just seceed.

  • I wish, we had a politician like you over here (in Germany).

  • Its crazy how Social Security was enacted by Roosevelt's New Deal in the 1940s. Every sense then we never had a problem until now.

  • Thank you Bernie..VT loves you. Keep fighting for us!

  • Bernie Sanders just maybe the most intelligent and astute Senator currently serving in the US Senate at this present time.

  • @lildwayne21 May be, but considering how short-sighted & ignorant or delusional a lot of them are that's not saying much.

  • Is Obama in bed with the white billionaires ? Please say its not true.

  • @justcallmeassinine Of course, he also is one.

  • @justcallmeassinine Of course he is. This whole debt ceiling thing is just an act. He is going to fold. Listen to me, he is going to fold.

  • @justcallmeassinine You bet he is.

  • @justcallmeassinine No hes just too naive to realize that trying to compromise and cooperate with conservatives / republicans is like trying to reason with spoiled children. They will not submit to reason and all they want is to get their way at all costs. They wost part of this is that guess what we the regular people are quote on quote "an expendable nuisance"

  • @Phenixtri Republicans are so short -sighted that they are a threat to themselves. Even wealthy poeple suffer from high private insurance premiums and huge bills when they get old.If you are worth a few million (as many neo-con politicians are) that amount is not enough to protect you from global predators in the form of health insurers.Everyone needs social security and some type of safety net,not only average income earners but millionaires as well.Anyone denying tax hikes on big biz is nuts.

  • Respond to this video... We had a voter's revolt and gave Obama the power in 2008. Just because he is black doesn't mean he is progressive. We need a mandate for Sen.Sanders in 2012 and VP of his choice !

  • Respond to this video... Do not vote based on skin color or ethnic background ! Not in 2012 or any other time. Listen to the content of the candidate's words and study the platform ! But too many either don't vote or vote on appearances. And the middle classes become poorer.

  • @justcallmeassinine Look I don't judge any one nor do I give a dam about that kind of baggage to which you speak of. I am nor ever was bound by racism, greed, or any other such ludicrous ideologies.

And if you honestly believe that voting will change anything then you are clearly out of your mind. Sanders is literally the only politician who care about the common good yet he alone does not poses the power to enact significant change. Were better off trying to recreate the Progressive Party. >>

  • @Phenixtri A new party would be great ! It would also be great if Sanders was elected prez in 2012. Both not going to happen.

  • @justcallmeassinine Im working on it but it certainly wouldn't be new in fact it would be the 3rd Progressive Party. The last 2 were more or less destroyed by conservatives in the past. But yes I am trying to recreate it to provide a grassroots logical and aggressive alternative to the tea party. Basically its would also be similar to rebuild the dream in that it would provide real time journalism, communication, and support for all progressives, liberals, socialists, and the working class.

  • @justcallmeassinine arent they jewish?

  • @773creyes You serious believe that brainwash .Numbnut waterhead.

  • @justcallmeassinine Unfornately the answer is yes, it is true.

  • @justcallmeassinine yes yes yes it is true. He was compromised the day he took office. He can do only what he is permitted to do.

  • @bghaas Then we doomed.

  • @justcallmeassinine He's has been even before the presidency.
