I know someone who uses marijuana because her oncologist said that she was going to die....but she used the highly concentrated oil that is "illegal" that most of us know about. And she has now been told that her "terminal cancer" that the doctors couldn't cure, is now REVERSING. It's all for profit and control this prohibition.

One time I was on the freeway driving and pretty stoned after a blunt. I was passing cars and semis when all of a sudden my mind played a really dangerous trick on me. It was a sensational feeling... I started to feel like I wasn't moving anymore and that objects (cars, semis, the dividing lines) were moving towards me. I almost lost complete control. I think I was in some kind of trance due to the music I was listening to, but I was able to snap out of it when the fear set it. Don't smoke&drive
One time, I got really baked and kept accidentally getting into the left turn lane cuz I was just following the curb. But then I stopped being such a nub and now I drive high every day.

The DEA's point about hemp companies going bankrupt is a terrivl point. It is the same case for any company who makes a particualar product and is competeing with other companies in the same market - the companies with the comparitive and/or absolute advantage will prevail. Look at any other industries in a given market and you will find that the majority of the companies have failed while the few who have mastered prodcution of the given product have prevailed.

That's not true, the most recent poll was done by Gallup, which found that 44% of Americans favored legalization, 54% were opposed to it, and 2% weren't sure.
Just type "gallup marijuana" into Google. If you look at the graph that Gallup displays on their site, you can see that the % of people wanting it legalized is quickly gaining on the % that want it illegal.
However, the majority still prefer that marijuana be illegal.

As for the cops stance, his best point was that smokers make it their life but its very obvious why that happens. Hypocrisy induced protest. Seriously, even if cannabis were extremely unhealthy, which it isn't, that doesn't give government the right to tell you what you can and can't do with your body as long as you're not hurting anybody else. Weed has different effects on people.
After I smoke my body goes numb and I usually lose my sense of coordination. If I would get high and drive a car I'd fucking kill myself!
That doesn't mean I don't like getting high though, I just wouldn't get behind the wheel of a car.

One time I was on the freeway driving and pretty stoned after a blunt. I was passing cars and semis when all of a sudden my mind played a really dangerous trick on me. It was a sensational feeling... I started to feel like I wasn't moving anymore and that objects (cars, semis, the dividing lines) were moving towards me. I almost lost complete control. I think I was in some kind of trance due to the music I was listening to, but I was able to snap out of it when the fear set it. Don't smoke&drive

The DEA's point about hemp companies going bankrupt is a terrivl point. It is the same case for any company who makes a particualar product and is competeing with other companies in the same market - the companies with the comparitive and/or absolute advantage will prevail. Look at any other industries in a given market and you will find that the majority of the companies have failed while the few who have mastered prodcution of the given product have prevailed.

And just because he claims it's addictive, doesn't make it so. Even the official government studies, place it on the addictive level of Caffeine.

Just because people don't want to stop doing something, doesn't mean that it's addictive. There is a big difference between chemical dependence, which Marijuana doesn't have, and wanting to do something you enjoy.
And another thing... I would say that even without the majority's approval, Marijuana should still be legal. Because it comes down to the rights of the individual, just like a civil rights issue. No majority has the right to tell an individual what they can't do with their own body.

both debaters were sub-par, but the the guy against pot didn't have his facts right and every time he had anything to say about studies and scientists he didn't give any specific examples of studies done in his favor.
the fact of the matter is that MOST studies support the legalization of smoking pot in the fact that the studies don't show negative medical effects on the body or brain, most the time they just say something about a change in the persons behavior which is non-scientific anyways

DEA guy says that it is stupid for people to vote on medicine. Well they are not voting for medicine they are voteing so that doctors can be protected under state law so they can PRACTICE medicine. Having a federal organization outside of the medical field (DEA) say what is and what is not medicine is a STUPID policy!

only one specific study was mentioned and it was by the high times guy. also the American College of Physicians, the American Psychiatric Association and the American Nurses Association endorse medical marijuana. that means they regard it as MEDICINE.

Why don't you hear about hemp from the experts, because its illegal. I thought someone from the DEA would know that since they are the ones that prohibit hemp farming in america. I love how he justifies the criminalization of hemp because it is supposedly a weak crop. Well let the free market decide, you fucking closeted socialist. He is dead wrong on that decrim. stat to, the majority of Americans are for decrim, think it is 4/5ths and it is 40/50% for legalization.
