No, seriously, when I was a little kid, we would try to catch lizards in the morning on flat slabs of concrete, and the tail would always go in the same direction the lizard ran off too...
I am serious.. IN this video, the tail can't go anywhere because of the hole it's in surrounded by rocks and sticks... if it breaks off on a flat surface, you will see what happens.. the teacher said the last signal the entire body/tail got was to go in whatever direction the Lizard went in...
Reallly? Wow... In science class, we talked about this...
Well, that was a while ago... And, I watched this numerous times when I was a kid.. tons of Lizards in the summer where I lived? And we were always catching them and accidentally snapping off there tails in the process of catching them...
All I know, is what I saw consistently and what My science teacher taught us....
The tail retain some nerve impulses that will rapidly fire off and convulse the muscles, a severed human body part will do much the same. If your head was cut off your eyes would blink and mouth would move rapidly for several seconds even though you are dead.
so nasty

A lizard did this to me 5 minutes ago and the tail went the other way.
Dont believe everything high school teachers say.
Some of them are crap.
Stick to the school book and encyclopedias.

Because if a lizard feels threatened in anyway, it will drop its tail as a distraction to the predator.
