i was old enough to remember this, but im glad i don't lol !!! what i don't get is that robert reed hated doing the brady bunch so much that he didn't even appear in some episodes, but he did this show???
Rober Reed was instumental in getting this show off the ground. He was the most keen to do it. Not because HE wanted to do it but because he loved the kids and thought they we were so taleted that he was prepaired to do this for the kids.
I wonder how much slack Greg took for that gay-ass leap he did off the steps? I'm just saying, moves like that don't help your masculinity—unless you're wearing a Spider-Man costume.
@mikeysaur65 i agree, and to make maters worse greg wa wearing a white and pink jumpsuit i wonder if he ever got over it.some people wil do anything for a paycheck
According to Susan Olsen's book on this series, Eve Plumb's mother revealed that Eve sat in front of the tv, watching the very first episode of this show, while crying tears of sadness because she wasnt a part of it.
I do remember watching this show, how could I miss it, I grew up in the 70s in the bay area( what kid wasn't?) and it always had me confounded about how the idea of installing a substitute 'Jan'. Show business is weird....and stupid more often than not.
I like the way that poor fake jan is left trying to rescue the strangest arrangement of "Happy Together". With its odd anti climactic chord progressions I can't see how she pulled it off. Poor girl, too bad she couldn't get on an actual show... she was the only one who could sing!
Rip Taylor was a regular on the show, playing the obnoxious jack-of-all-trades Mr. Merrill. Merrill held every occupation from moving man to restaurateur to substitute teacher, and he appeared in every finale production number, usually dueting with Alice (whom his character was in love with).

I bet Eve Plumb was never so happy to say NO to a project as she must have been when she saw this.

I think Geri, Barry, Florence and Maureen were the only ones who could truly sing good.
