I was an onsite manager with my wife making $800/month plus rent working 60 hours a week. My wife 40 hours. (Yes it is a loophole in the law that allows property management companies to pay less than minimum wage.) We made too much to qualify for medical coverage by less than 50 bucks.
So, I went and got a JOB working for a company that was large enough that their plan accepted pre-existing conditions like cancer, TB, and pregnancy. Don't tell me these people couldn't get coverage.
I used the same example that Whoopi made regarding car insurance, home insurance that we are mandated to get and then someone rightfully reminded me that we are not "mandated" to drive or own a home. So, yes, it appears now there is a fundamental difference and that is we are "mandated" to accept this thing regardless of whether or not we want it and will get fined by the iRS if we are not on board. Hmmm
Bush changed the landscape of America every day he was in office. The Republicans are so filled with rage because they're not in charge anymore, no longer stuffing their pockets with taxpayer money (Haliburton), pretending to rebuild Iraq while torturing, maiming and killing more innocent women and children than were killed on 9/11. The sad reality is, the only way this bill is actually going to affect someone in their every day life is if they don't have insurance, because they'll be given the opportunity to have insurance. She's wealthy, and will be provided with the better medical coverage than most people dream of having.

If they don't pass this bill, health insurance is going to keep going up to the point that, it won't be affordable even to the rich. I was an onsite manager with my wife making $800/month plus rent working 60 hours a week. My wife 40 hours. (Yes it is a loophole in the law that allows property management companies to pay less than minimum wage.) We made too much to qualify for medical coverage by less than 50 bucks.
So, I went and got a JOB working for a company that was large enough that their plan accepted pre-existing conditions like cancer, TB, and pregnancy. Don't tell me these people couldn't get coverage.

So, yes, it appears now there is a fundamental difference and that is we are "mandated" to accept this thing regardless of whether or not we want it and will get fined by the iRS if we are not on board. The sad reality is, the only way this bill is actually going to affect someone in their every day life is if they don't have insurance, because they'll be given the opportunity to have insurance. This bill won't drastically affect the way Elizabeth or anyone else lives their daily lives. I don't know why she's so upset about it. She's wealthy, and will be provided with the better medical coverage than most people dream of having.

I don't think many people even understand the bill. They just see that they have to pay a little more money and freak out and say the bill is bad. Do your research and look at both the positives and negative effects of the bill.
The positives outweigh the negatives by a huge margin. The only big negative is that you will have to spend some extra dollars. People who have never qualified for healthcare can now BECAUSE of this bill.

The republicans were exactly like the democrats with the exception they do not want to have control like I believe Hitler and Stalin did. I have said I do not like what the repubs did. I don't believe in parties, but I do believe in common sense. What is happening now is history repeating itself and it scares me. Everything the republicans did was just stupid.

how quickly people forget that most common people depend on the government for basic social services...food stamps, public schools, medicare, and that we have many other mandated programs such as car insurance etc. Lets hope you never get dropped by your insurance when you needed the most or that you don't have a preexisting medical condition because them... you are just going to die!!!!!

AIG, Lehman Brothers etc. OWN A GREAT SHARE OF LIFE INSURANCE AND HEALTH INSURANCE...THEY GOT THE BAILOUT. I KNOW TOO MANY OF MY FRIENDS MAKING SIX FIGURE SALARY AND DON'T HAVE HEALTH INSURANCE BECAUSE THEY WILL PAY A GREAT PREMIUM. The debt we have can be paid once we get our money back from "white collar criminals" who DID NOT NEED THE BAILOUT MONEY BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO BIG TO FAIL.

Go look at the people that were voting for Obama, and they were questions like who is Joe biden, and the voters had no idea.
