The dog on this video is not registered with the SV, but with AKC. He is slightly oversized, and that is correct what Lawrence said, the standard of the breed is 65cm to the withers in males and up to 60cm in females. Even though in the past even in Germany it was still acceptable to have dogs 66cm, as long as they were proportioned, today we are trying to go back to the somewhat smaller dog, within the standard of the breed. That way the dogs are more agile and can perform better.
@Lawrence1443 A few years back, the German Shepherds have still been bred under the SV system, if you are referring to show lines. The big German Shepherds you had were probably the "old fashioned, oversized" dogs. This is out of the standard, and adding all the weight and height is not good for its joints and hips, even if they claim to be OFA certified. The GSD should only be 24-26 inches (65 cm) tall. Over it is considered unacceptable and incorrect to the breed standard.
@nicolebodea that makes a lot of sense thanks for the educated response usual I get alot of crazy talk from internet thugs and gangsters when commenting on videos
