Those pinsetters come down extremely quick. Absolutely no time for a messenger to come over. John Gant got screwed on that last shot.

AMF or Brunswick, the time delay from when the ball activates the machine to when it actually 'feels' for pins should be the same. It should be something like 3 seconds minimum to allow for wobbling pins to fall.
