the Hi(red) on the head is usually bright red, much redder than other markings on the body (look at the other koi beside). this might be a true marking, but there are chances that it is man made

I used to have a blonde beagle with those same markings. He was really pale, but right in the middle of his four head he had this wonderful red heart. Those fish are wonderful and brought back some good memories I had with old Muttley...thank you...now I'm gonna go dry my eyes!!

@sk8p3rson7 ya they can get pretty old like for instance in the lake of the ozarks in missouri there are some private coves who put koi in there to swim with and i saw one with its eyes glassed over and it had grey/green patterns and was atleast 2 feet long

now, if a kohaku with a lipstick is Kuchibeni Kohaku, Menkaburi Kohaku is the "hooded" one, and Hantsuki Kohaku is eith the hi going up to the mouth... what could this Kohaku be called then?

"Kokoro Kohaku" meaning with a heart pattern.
